Commercial Description:
Filtered.
Uses Vieux Temps yeast which gives the clove-like flavour.
"Leffe Blond is a pale abbey beer, with a full, sunny, golden colour. It has a smooth and full bodied taste and a rich creamy head. Like all the Leffe beers, it is a ’connoisseur’ beer that is easy to drink."

Color: a clear gold. Head: a nice, fluffy white. Aroma: sharp with spicy notes, sweet with citrus and fruit, peach, apricot. Palate is sweet and smooth, with full malt. Hops are playing it cool, but give a nice little tingle on the tongue. Light body, low carbonation, good texture. Overall, uncomplicated, fine, delicious, if unremarkable.

A pleasant surprise. Draft, in Leffe glass. Sort of a light amber color, good head retention throughout. The aromas was a bit on the spicy side. Flavor was clean, a touch sweet, but not cloying. The earthy flavors grabbed my attention, combined with a woodsy floral finish. This was superlative with a spicy lamb sausage penne dish.

On Tap--pours a slightly hazy blonde(duh) with a 1.0 cm white head that dissipates appropriately. Slight yeast and bananas on the nose-more bananas. Start is very creamy with banana hints in the middle. Finishes bitter and slightly hopped. Great mouth feel.

08.11.04 Tap @ Mew’s Tavern, RI. Golden with lasting white head. Aromas are plain but amusingly Belgian. Body is light and unimpressive. There is a certain presence of Belgian yeasties, though subdued. In all, this seems like a beer repressed.

Draught at La Bodega in Reims. Blonde pour. Frothy head and fruity. Good but served too cold. Somewhat disappointed.

Golden-orange body and silky white head. Nice esters in the nose. Citrus, bananas, yeast, and bread feature prominently. An enjoyable beer that exceeded my expectations.

A very pleasant but heavy beer. Lovely golden appearance misleads you into thinking its just another lager-which it isn’t! A rich taste but after a few sips you realise that this is not one to mess with.
