Aroma is very estery, Belgian yeast up the wazoo, doughy, very triple like. Flavor follows exactly, the bottle is a bit less attenuated than when I had this in Belgium, doughy, sugary sweet, very estery, yeasty. I good drinker but I think I prefered this in Belgium when it seemed lighter. DSG (1515), Tel Aviv, Israel
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 19, 2007 Bottle. Clear golden with a medium slow-diminishing white head. Sweet fruity and yeasty aroma. A sweet malty flavor with a fairly bitter and a bit metallic finish. Medium bodied. Not too exiciting, but not bad as well. jasonp (1514), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA

Aroma is of cloves and spiciness. Estery. The taste has the same aroma characteristics plus notes of banana, yeast and some very pleasant malty sweetness and a hint of grain. Mouthfeel is full and round. Good lacing and head retention. Quality brew. Finn (1510), Tromsø, Norway

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 24, 2004 Nice dark gold body topped with a fluffy and quick-fading brew. Fruity (mainly banana and apple) and lightly alcoholized aroma which is confirmed in the mouth. The alcohol is well hidden, carbonation is present without being exagerated, and the final is sweet. Easily available, that beer is an excellent introduction to beer-tasting. Strykzone (1505), Wood River, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 1, 2007 Golden pour with a soapy light head. Plenty of carbonation. Flavor is hop, honey and hefe flavors. Nice beer! shadey (1501), Rochester, New York, USA

RERATE: (consumed 12/27/06, 12oz Bottle). Golden pour with some depth. Very minimal head of soapy white film. Aroma is mild sweetness. Flavor is sweet, slightly alcoholic as it warms. There really isn’t much too this beer. The yeast flavor lets you know its Belgian, but their really isn’t much else. 5/3/5/3/11
12oz bottle from the same six-pack as the 12/27/06 rating. About one year old. The color and presentation of this beer is pretty impressive. The aroma is sweet, yeasty and with definite alcohol presence - although not unwelcome. The flavor is sweet, dusty yeast and some spiciness that is mild but obvious. Easy to drink. 6/4/6/4/16
2006 Bottle. Approximately 2 years old. Pours a vivid gold color wit a big fluffy white head of tight creamy bubbles. The aroma is a spritzy lemon/orange. Teh flavor is smooth and refreshing. Citrus but with a sweet malty finish. I think I prefer this beer with age, which is counter to my tastes lately. 7/5/7/4/16 MaiBockAddict (1499), Good Beer Bar Deprived, New Jersey, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 22, 2005 Bottle at Andy’s. This is one beer that I have been avoiding all my life. Golden clear, thin white head. Banana clove aroma, much like a German wheat. Malty sweet banana clove flavors, that build. Malty sweet finish. A little too sweet, almost cloying. Flavors don’t build well when they warm up.
