Aroma is musty. Flavor is good for class, although a little on the light side. It tastes creamy, then cinnamon/banana comes through. Finishes OK. Rastacouere (5566), Montréal, Quebec, Canada

Theres nohign special but it does the job, however can be a bit sweet at times, makes it not the smoothest to drink. hopscotch (5558), Vero Beach, Florida, USA

Good retention with thick, creamy lacework. The aroma and flavor are all about banana and clove. A little too sweet. Medium-bodied and creamy with lively carbonation. Lengthy, sweet, spicy finish. Aroma of sweet Belgian pale malt and lots of fruity banana and strawberry. Body starts with a viscous malty sweetness balanced with some peppery coriander spice. A nice, smooth and enjoyable Belgian ale. Bov (5514), Bienne, Switzerland

Fluffy white head, clear golden colour, nice lace, yeasty Belgian character, in both the nose and palate. Fairly simple, but with some nice yeasty almost doughy characters, nothing special, but pretty solid. JorisPPattyn (5193), Antwerpen, Belgium
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 3, 2003 Updated: Sep 18, 2003Pale gold with amber shine. Medium white head, stable, lacey. Nose of hops, not very subtle however. Impression of candi-sugar. Taste is hopbitter - definitely bittering hops or extract. Some background sweetness - not malty. Warming up, appearance of burnt caramel. Rather dry. Harsh bitter aftertaste, a bit metallic. This is not a BAD beer. It is an unrefined beer. And terribly popular, spiting more complex, less accessible, and much more rewarding brews - by smaller firms.
Rerating on 18/9/2003, this time from 75cl bottle. Much less bitter, not hoppy, more medicinal in flavour. It's not better, rather the opposite. Aftertaste is more fruity, a bit better all the same. Dryness remains.
