blkitson (125), Westerville, Ohio, USA Feb 26, 2007 Had as a draft. Not much of a head. Advesrtised to have flavors of pepper, lemon, and pear. The 1st sip, the pear came out. Never tasted the lemon. The longer it set, the peppery tasting it got. NNot a bad beer
BeerEssential (73), Massachusetts, USA Jul 8, 2008 Pours an almost clear amber that shines golden when struck by light. Starts off with a generous head, but it fizzles away and left little lacing. Scent was along the lines of many other Belgian brews - slightly floral, sweet, fruity and malty. Taste is somewhat sweet (gets sweeter and rum-ier as it warms up) with an effervescent bite. Bought this at the local grocery store, where the only other Belgian beer was Hoegaarden. SeanMacGC (9), Dublin, Ireland does not count Jul 6, 2008 Attractive blonde beer, with appealing golden appearance and reasonably durable head. Soft yeast, hops and on the palate and nose, with sweet undercurrents. mattmc1973 (99), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA Jul 6, 2008 On draught at ’Rocks’ in Chicago. Color was amber, not as blond as I thought it would be. Aroma of malt, sweet fruit, hops, and yeast. Flavor of sweet malt and mild hops, with some floral accents. Medium mouthfeel. Not amazing, but pretty good. REDBOSOX (28), Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts, USA Jul 5, 2008 If you’ve never had a true Belgian beer before, Leffe blond is a good one as a starter. It’s a medium golden color and very flavorful. I prefer other Leffe beers over this one myself, but that does not mean that this isn’t a good beer. I have yet to have a bad Leffe beer. I generally prefer darker beers, but this one’s certainly one I buy often. BlockBrew (48), West Lafayette, Indiana, USA Jul 5, 2008 A nice solid beer. Great color and aroma. I had this beer along with several other Belgian beers, and honestly wasn’t my favorite of the night which probably has a slight influence on my score. I wouldn’t choose to drink this all night, but a beer worth trying.
