"Leffe Blond is a pale abbey beer, with a full, sunny, golden colour. It has a smooth and full bodied taste and a rich creamy head. Like all the Leffe beers, it is a ’connoisseur’ beer that is easy to drink."

UPDATED: FEB 13, 2007 8/05/2006: Deep gold, almost orange in color. Clear, well carbonated, with an nearly white head. Aroma is slightly spicy, some malt, and maybe a touch of yeastiness. Flavor is slightly sweet and spicy, some undertones of citrus lingering. Beer is fairly light on the palate. Over all a good beer, but nothing overly rememberable for me as it seemed pretty typical of the style. 11.2 oz bottle, $3.50 at Winking Lizard Tavern (Crosswoods). Rating: 6 3 6 3 12 = 3.

2/07/2007: Leffe Blond was the beer of the month at Winking Lizard Tavern (Crosswoods) for February 2007, so I had one on draught and got the Leffe goblet/glass with it to keep... Clear, light gold color with a small, bubbly white head. Delicate aromas of lemon and spice. The flavor is lightly malty and has some lemon citrus and spice as well. Moderately sweet with a light palate. Generously carbontated, but not over-carbonated or fizzy. The draught version is very refreshing, easy to drink, and better than the bottled version. Updated rating: 6 3 7 3 13= 3.2.

UPDATED: JUN 3, 2007 Pours golden with white head. Unusually clear for a belgian ale. Aroma smells like sugar and bread, hints of sour fruit. Flavor is sweet, hints of bitter hops, some grassy flavors alongside sour/citrus fruit, a little spice (coriander). The mouthfeel is medium - not particularly light, but certainly not syrupy. Carbonation is just right. Overall, quite satisfying - would make a fantastic session beer (although a little strong)

Bottle. Pours clear golden orange with white head. Aroma is malt, banana, cloves, and musty. Flavor is banana, malt, coriander, orange. Decent, but this beer is too expensive for what you get.

Pours a golden color with a fairly thick white head at first that goes away quickly. Aroma has some clove and a strange yeast like smell that seems odd for such a non bottle conditioned beer. Light citrus flavor, not a whole lot going on here. I can’t ever see myself buying this one again.

Bottle 0.33l. Aroma is a pleasent mix of malt, hops and yeast; some light notes of citrus and cloves. Clear, dark golden body with a average white head; good lacing and average lasting; smaal particles of average density. Flavour is a light mix of sweet and acidic; the last one dominates the finish. Medium body with a texture between watery and oily; average carbonation; slightly astringent feeling in the finish. This beer is pleasent, surely above the average of the beers you can find in a supermarket.

Doppelganger (1388) - Dry County, Arkansas, USA - JUL 21, 2006
Bottle. Tall cap of white on a bright copper pour. The cap settles fairly quickly, but leave some attractive lace. An oceany, mineral character to the aroma. Pepper, figs, warm yeastiness. Very spicy. A rush of prickly spices in the flavor, then a touch of breadcrust, a bit of copper in the finish. As the glass progresses, it moves to more of a warm bread finish. Very light, with a substantial buzz of carbonation. Shy of brilliant, but a solid beer none-the-less.

Nice sweet aroma. The color was an amber with a thick white head. The flavor was of oranges and apples. The mouthfeel was very light, with very little aftertaste. I tend to like Belgian Ales anyway, so maybe I’m just biased towards this.
