This would make a nice table beer if it wasn’t too expensive, a nice daily drinker. But Duvel is a little cheaper and this is no better than that.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Golden pale appearance, smooth and complete heavy yeasty taste, with long aftertaste. I had this with bbq burgers and steaks, brings out flavors even more. Easy to put a few of these away in 33cl bottles around here but can get you on your way quickly with higher alcohol content.

Really the great beer...real beer. Deep golden colored with rich white head, offers special flavor, perfect combination of bitter and sweet, just what you would expect of a beer with almost full taste. Alcohol is quite felt despite its relatively low percentage.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
330 mL bottle from LCBO, served cold in a tulip glass.
App.: Clear golden with a nice white foam.
Aroma: A good dose of yeast and dough, some honey and flowers, light esters of bubblegum and banana; an odd funk(?) as it warms.
Palate: Medium body, soft yet effervescent carbonation.
Flav.: Light yeast and dough, light honey, definite cardboard; a little spice and light banana esters; soft finish.
This stuff is everywhere, so how the hell did I get an oxidized bottle?? I might re-rate.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled from 12-oz bottle at Cellar’s Wine & Spirits in St Paul, MN. Pours a light clear golden brew with an average white head that slowly dissolves and leaves behind a siapy and spotty lacing. Aroma of sweet bread dough, yeast, banana, some white peper and a touch of pear. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation and a creamy texture. Flavors has a good balance of bread dough yeast and banana character. Finish is semi-sweet with a banana aftertaste.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
bottled. Very typical Belgian, straight to the point. Yeast, malts, a bit of alcohol. That bit could be more. Good but I avoided these in the fridge for over a month, good but oh-so typical.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Now that I have become a beer snob, I find Leffe Blonde a pedestrian beer. At the time of my first tasting many years ago I wrote that it was succulent and rich, round and smooth. Found the carbonation level high but soft, with small bubbles and a pleasantly soft, mellow mouthfeel. Aroma didn’t seem like much to me: almost stale at times but becomes fruity as the beer warms. Many tastes can be discovered by swishing it around in the mouth...Leffe is ubiquitous on tap in bars and makes a good standby. The glassware is nice.
