"Leffe Blond is a pale abbey beer, with a full, sunny, golden colour. It has a smooth and full bodied taste and a rich creamy head. Like all the Leffe beers, it is a ’connoisseur’ beer that is easy to drink."

UPDATED: SEP 24, 2007 Pours deep gold. The aroma is frothing with banana and some yeast. Full bodied. Sweet, caramel and banana ride alongside an alcohol warmth. Dry hops in the aftertaste. Good beer -- but I prefer the brune.

9/18/07 On draught. Aroma is estery fruit forward with pepper tones followed by some sweet malt. Appearance is a clear gold with a solid white head. Flavor is almost as estery with a distinct spiciness and a bit more malt character. No hops. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a medium carb feel. Overall, this is another approachable Belgian that never seems to get the respect it deserves.

In Belgium, I saw Leffe everywhere. In the train station. In every bar. It was a common beer. In Missouri, it’s a big deal when a store gets it. That said, it’s a nice beer. Not the greatest Belgian I’ve ever had, but refreshing, clean and "easy" to drink. Worth the purchase. Hard to believe it’s an InBev factory beer.

Heavy yeasty aroma, light fruits as well. Clear golden appearance, fizzy little head. Don’t like the way it looks. Don’t like its taste. Alcohol and light malt in the flavor. Some woodsy taste. Full mouthfeel, not too bad. Wouldn;t get it again.

Not bad, but to be honest, I thought this was mediocre. On the pour, small head. Clear, yellow in color. Fruity, sweet taste. Nice flavor, mild malt, but nothing special.

Just got this on a trip out east and see we now have it here in St. Louis. I’ve got my fingers crossed its reasonably priced because this would be a great stand by beer. Pours blond (of course) with a good sized off-white head. The aroma has light fruits (white grapes and nectar fruits), lots of yeast, lightly toasted malt and a touch of sweetness. Medium body with a good deal of prickly carbonation. The flavor starts with hearty toasted rich malt, some soda like qualities, earthy yeast and spices that lean towards coriander and pepper. The finish is much thinner and has a sharp tinniness to it.

Pours golden blond with a thick, white, velvety head. Strong aroma that is fruity, malty and a little spicy. Full, powerful flavour for a blond. It’s a little dry and yeasty with underlying fruit flavours.

Pours a clear amber with minimal head. The nose is sweet and yeasty. Typical Belgian nose and quite yummy. Just smelling it reminds me why I love the Belgian stuff so much. Flavor is extremely sweet. Especially on the back end of the “flavor rush”. Strong yeast tones as well, but I find the flavor overall to be rather subdued. Perhaps after trying so many different of this level of brew, I am coming to appreciate a more unfiltered and raw beer. Feel is a little thin. Drinkable? I think it depends on your personal preference. As I think about it, something in this brew reminds me of makeup. Weird.
