"Leffe Blond is a pale abbey beer, with a full, sunny, golden colour. It has a smooth and full bodied taste and a rich creamy head. Like all the Leffe beers, it is a ’connoisseur’ beer that is easy to drink."

Dark yellow color, big lasting white head. Apple, spices, mild banana and sweetness in aroma. Medium bodied. Fruity, mildly spicy flavor, medium alcohol comes up in the end with mild bitterness. Good basic Belgian ale with nice touch of alcohol.

UPDATED: JAN 23, 2012 Another beer that I have had numerous times but had not gotten around to rating. This one is my go to Belgian draft when cost is a factor. Sampled on draft for this rating the beer pours a medium golden color with a small white head. The aroma is sweet and sugary with a light fruity sour tang. The flavor is sweet and sugary with a light fruity and light tangy malt presence. The mouthfeel is nicely thick.

Bottle, served at a restaurant in refrigerated and completely inappropriate glassware. As it was my first Belgian Pale Ale of the non-heavy variety I wasn’t sure what to expect. Poured sparkling clear golden colour with two fingers of bubbly head that lasted well and left heaps of lacing. When I smelt it, I thought there had been some sort of labelling error, as it smelt just like a German kristallweizen - all bananas and cloves. Same with the taste. What the...? Only difference was the mouth feel was a little heavier than the average kristall. Will definitely come back and re-rate this after more experience with the style.

UPDATED: OCT 24, 2005 Pours pale yellow-gold with a white foamy head. Yeast, wheat malt (grain) and banana, fruity aromas. Yeasty start, bananas next, and then finishes spicy-hoppy. Mild buttery cream palate, a tad fizzy.

UPDATED: MAY 3, 2005 [bottle: peckhams] pours a clouded yellow colour with a reasonable head which maintains a thin layer and laces well. aromas of yeast, banana, cloves and maybe a little spices. reasonable body, dry finish. for the price and availibility its not bad.

Bottle Dark golden color, with a creamy looking head. Nice Lacing. Taste is very rich, although neutral at the same time. From inital looks, it doesn’t seem to have much body, but in taste it is full flavored. A really noble brew, although mass produced, seems to keep the mistique of abbey beers.

330ml bottle. Clear golden color with a nice white head. Aromas of banana, yeast and malt. Flavor is mildly sweet, fruity, malty, and rich. Smooth and creamy, and a bit salty. Spicy hoppy finish. Very Nice! I like it. Extra points for low price ($8.99 a six). these will go fast.

Pours a dark golden color, frothy head, malty flavor... a good beer not one of my favorites but I’d drink it again!

UPDATED: APR 3, 2005 Draft, snifter. Straw/gold hue. No variation in color. Tall, white, frothy, lasting head leaves great lacing. Banana, hay, flowers, bread aromas. Moderately sweet, lightly acidic flavor becomes a lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter finish. Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation. Clean aroma and flavor. The bottom line is: So it’s not the most complex, but hell, it tastes like BANANA NUT BREAD!!! I was expecting to slam this, but I can’t. Maybe I just had that one glass out of a million, but it was pretty damn good.

I’ve had a few bottles now too...it’s still pretty damn good in my book. A little more acidic in the bottles.
