Light Golden color. Looks really pretty in the glass with a heavy white head. Smells of clove with a light sweet lingering flavor.

(on bottle, grand reserve) To me this is aclasic, one f the first belgians I had. (Besides that brownhaired chick, but I guess yaīll heard that one before) Bog one the banana/yeast aromas. Full, almost creamy mouth feel, bt stilll very easy and drinkable. The hign carbonation, covers the sweetness well.

Sparkling dark gold, big rocky white head.. The nose held notes of corriander, orange zest, some banana and clove, cotton candy, with lesser herbal and straw notes coming out as it warmed. Lightly sweet and somewhat grassy with a light hop dose coming in at the end. Light to medium bodied, medium carbonation, crisp, sahara dry finish. A good beginner Belgian ale....

Common looking and smelling belgian blond, but I really found the taste appealing. Excellent mouthfeel, spiced just right- banana, clove, and orange. Usually I find something off with the taste of these, but I find it quite balanced. Very easy to drink many.

Fairly average beer to be honest. Had it on tap at the telegraph Hotel in Hobart and wasnít particularly impressed. Had a skunky aroma and metallic taste. Would drink it again, but only if someone else paid for it.

Light, pale yellow in colour. This is basically a classic Belgian beer. Same kind of taste as most Trappist beers, only not so mind-blowingly strong and as such far more drinkable.

One of my favourites, this looks good, beautiful golden colour,long lasting head. The nose is SO complex ..malty & spicy, a big full flavoured beer, how can they get so much flavour into such a small bottle???

July, 2003: Bottle. Iím a Leffe slag - I really like the stuff. Easy drinking Belgian. All the usual stuff there but no nasty surprises. Oh, how I love this stuff! I loved it before I started exploring all the other Belgian stuff, and I love it even more now that I have experienced a huge range of Belgians. [4.0]
Oct, 2004: Le Narval, Arle - Pression. Gently spicy with orange zest. A curious metallic thinness holds this back from total enjoyment. Leff slag I may be, but this just flopped into my mouth and performed like a dead duck. [2.5]
Jan, 2005: Keg, JDW, Rochester. Head to Head with two British Golden Ales, and this comes out on top. Clove spice. Christmassy. Sticky sweet. Yummy. [3.5]
May, 2008 Bottle Dry body with a pleasant soft sweet malt tickled with clove flavours from the Vieux Temps yeast. A creamy, delightful beer. Gentle and easy to drink. The alcohol adds warmth and happiness. Lovely. [3.6]
May, 2009 Bottle This works for me. A perfumed and mildly spicy pale ale. Itís a bit clean and lacking in character so doesnít get fly away scores, but compensates nicely enough with a delicious warmth and drinkability. [3.8]
July, 2012 Easy drinking pale biscuit malt - hot fermentation producing spicy, clove like notes. Short enough to keep some sweetness and oily viscosity. Hops are not really a part of this. Itís the marriage of malt, yeast and a short hot fermentation. Best combination. Shame itís filtered. But itís damned tasty, and easily available. [3.7]

As a novice to rating beers (although not to enjoying them!) I stayed with one of my favourite Belgian brewers for my first few ratings. The Blond is a clear golden amber in colour with a smallish frothy head which diminishes rather rapidly. It has a light to medium body and a pleasing softness on the palate. It definitely lacks the complexity of the Brune or Vieille Cuvee but its light, malty sweetness, coupled with the way it hides the alcohol so well, makes it go down very easily.
