Uses Vieux Temps yeast which gives the clove-like flavour.
"Leffe Blond is a pale abbey beer, with a full, sunny, golden colour. It has a smooth and full bodied taste and a rich creamy head. Like all the Leffe beers, it is a ’connoisseur’ beer that is easy to drink."

Golden pour with large white head that never really diminished, as typical of a Belgian. Some bananas and orange in the aroma, flavor is malty and carbonated but very limited in scope. Ok but there are other better examples of this.

UPDATED: MAY 11, 2009 Draft at Sharp Edge Brasserie in McMurray, PA. Served in a Trappist glass. Appearance is a crystal clear golden color with a creamy white head that lasts throughout. Excellent lacing. Nice fruity aroma of bananas, oranges, and clove. Taste is a balanced sweet malt and subtle hop flavor with bananas, oranges, and a soft clove character. Light to medium body. Highly carbonated. Crisp and refreshing. Short finish.

Pours a huge, foamy white head. Golden color. Aroma has notes of banana, caramel, coriander, floral hops. Taste is sweet...coriander, clove and citrus on the tongue. Finishes dry and hoppy...a little alchol burn. I liked this one. Tastes similar to the American Blonde Ales I’ve had but a fuller body.

this was a smaple beer from a vendor... poured into a tulip glass from 11oz bottle Pale golden yellow, hazy with an extremely long lasting white head. Fairly weak aroma with yeasty notes and some slight spiciness and fruit. Sweet and malty, well balanced with a nice hop bite and medium bitterness. Finishes long and very sweet, but not too sweet. A very good lighter Belgian ale.

Strongly carbonated it leaves a sharp tingle in the mouth and gives the drinker a metallic taste sensation...as if it had been alcohol’d with cheap vodka. The colour is attractive and classy looking: a clear slightly orangey amber. Overall, not terribly fond of this brew but it does have a lovely bottle.

Aroma is nicely fruity, yeast, an apple scent, bubble gum, and pretty nicely spiced all around. Appearance is clear and golden with an ever so slight hint of amber, and a thick white head that lingers. Taste is fruity, bread, yeast, somewhat grainy, and an overall nice clean taste. Palate somewhat astringent in your mouth, mouth feel fruity with an aftertaste has a yeast characteristic. Overall, I really like this brew. Even though, its from the monster of the beer industry.

330 ml bottle. Clear golden body with a big off-white head. Moderate aroma of sweet malt and spices. Flavor is sweet, light malty, light spicy, a hint of caramel and a hint of alcohol. The body is light, but not watery and there is a pronounced bitterness in the finish. Not very complex, but a pleasant and decent light ale for the right occasions.
