Uses Vieux Temps yeast which gives the clove-like flavour.
"Leffe Blond is a pale abbey beer, with a full, sunny, golden colour. It has a smooth and full bodied taste and a rich creamy head. Like all the Leffe beers, it is a ’connoisseur’ beer that is easy to drink."

Clear medium amber with a good white foam head and excellent rows of spider-web lace. The taste is a full-bodied traditional Belgian in a low abv brew...how do they do it? There is sweet caramel malt with some light spices and a touch of banana and "Dots" candy (like we used to eat at the movies). The finish has a light carboonated hop edge that finally gives way to a lingering malty end. Overall, a very refreshing and drinkable quaff - high recommendations!

I’ve redefined my opinion of this beer lately. I think of it now as the "white t--shirt" of Belgian beer...it goes with everything and never goes out of style. It’s a little bland and not incredibly interesting, but it tastes fine and it’s a good baseline by which to judge other blonde ales. Many others are superior, but I can credit InBev’s distribution & marketing with getting a lot of people exposed to this fascinating and complex style of beer.

Bottle BB date 8/01/13 Pours clear and golden with a generous head and lacing, clove aroma is up front, taste is of plum and clove with some wheat character, hopping is very mild and is barely adequate to offset the malt sweetness, a bit of a lingering bitterness in the finish. Not your classic Abbey ale but a solid effort.

Bomber. Pours a nice golden yellow with a creamy head with solid retention and lacing. Aroma is of citrus, banana, clove and some hop character. Taste is sweet with some banana and clove notes. Medium carbonation and rather enjoyable. It’s nice; not my favorite example, but pleasant enough and easy to find.

Probably one of the best quality/price rate beer found in french supermarket. light sweeterness, light sparkling, nice palate.

Pours clear gold color with a big fluffy head. Get honey and belgian spiciness in the nose. Taste is the same with a stale orange sweetness and light hop flavor. Flavors are all pretty weak and the body is thinner than any other Belgian I’ve tried. Decent but I won’t look for it again.

bottle . clear amber with big white head . aroma is fruity and spicy with that clove touch . medium carbonation and body .taste is better than I remember before largely reflecting the aroma with underlying yeastiness. quite sweet . alcohol is not pronounced . there are many other belgians I prefer but this is not bad at all .
