Uses Vieux Temps yeast which gives the clove-like flavour.
"Leffe Blond is a pale abbey beer, with a full, sunny, golden colour. It has a smooth and full bodied taste and a rich creamy head. Like all the Leffe beers, it is a ’connoisseur’ beer that is easy to drink."

Draught in Brussel
Malty, light to medium sweet aroma, some fruitiness. Golden color. Fresh malty, fruity flavor. Light sticky. LIght dry bitter finish. Very pleasant but a hint to sweet for me.

From the bottle and from my buddy Matt who was generous enough to bring me two of these back from Chicago. The first one was downed sometime after the Superbowl!?! But this one...is all mine! Smooth and clear with a golden hue. Nice white head and good lacing. Apples, wood and citrus yeast in the nose. Zesty and lively yet somewhat dulled, but not in a bad way! To elaborate...zesty from the citrus and carbonation, yet the banana flavor somewhat rounds out the flavor. A lot of Belgian notes, but a slighty German Hefeweizen note. Alcohol is there, and yet it is easy to drink. I’ve heard a lot about Leffe, but this is the first that I have rated. What can I say? Smooth and flavorful.

Bottled, in Cyprus.
A redundancy rate that I had to use on this occasion. The selection in Cyprus was thin to say the very least and I’d been passing this by for a year choosing instead to take the more difficult rates first whilst they were there. Clear golden body with a medium to large head, dissipating. Coriander aroma that transitioned through to the flavour, accompanied by transient malt notes that could easily be missed if you weren’t paying attention.

Golden color, nice foamy head, sweet fruity notes, crisp pale malt aromas follow through on a medium-bodied palate with fruity, sweet pale malt, honeyish note, light bittering hops with sweet malted accent finish.

UPDATED: JAN 16, 2007 Bottle, dark golden colour with a large frothy white head. Sweet malty aroma with touches of yeast. Quite a sweet palate again, but with a good peppery spiciness. Pretty good and I find much better from the bottle than on draught.

11.2 oz bottle. Pours a near clear yellow golden with a nice white forthy head. Aroma is very estery, Belgian yeast up the wazoo, doughy, very triple like. Flavor follows exactly, the bottle is a bit less attenuated than when I had this in Belgium, doughy, sugary sweet, very estery, yeasty. I good drinker but I think I prefered this in Belgium when it seemed lighter.
