UPDATED: OCT 14, 2009 had on tap which was slightly better than my previous experience with the bottled version. This is full-flavored, yet still nice and light and makes for a refreshing treat. cloudy with strong yeast aroma. sweet taste with hints of straw and barley. pleasant finish with mild bitterness. definitely more fruit (citrus, pear, pineapple) when drinking on tap

The best word to describe this beer is overwhelming. As you pop the cap on the bottle, the aroma hits you in the face, alluring and full. As you pour it, you find the appearance to be, not as impressive, but nice--a darkness to it that compensates for a quickly dissipating head. As you sip it (and sip it, you must) your mouth will be tossed into a tumult of tastes, which takes the most experienced of raters to describe. So many flavors, so little time. In short, this beer lives up to being a Belgian ale. While not the best, this Belgian ale is still among its brethren--its saving grace being its wonderful complexity of malts, yeast, and hops.

Pours yellow gold with a fruity, malted nose. Tall white froth w/ perfect little Champagne bubbles. Light, clean, refreshing, smooth as silk, and fruity with a slight tartness preceeding the fruit. Finish is long a flavorfull. A complex brew yet easy to identify. Overall: I highly recomend this brew. The effers are not so bouyant as other ales in this genre (I like that about it).

Let me introduce you to one of my most favorite Belgian Pale Ale… Leffe Blonde. Pale amber in color, this ale pumps out a full-bodied, flavor-rich beer. First you’ll notice the soothing amber color in which light dances on the surface and deep within the glass. Take a moment to enjoy the substantial head that forms when the beer is poured just right. As you enjoy this fine ale, take note of the foam rings that line your glass. Drinking doesn’t just involve taste… take time to enjoy the look and display that your beer provides!
Then take in your first drink… no other ale fills my mouth like this hearty Belgian Ale! I notice different flavors each time I enjoy this ale but for the most part it imparts a slightly sweet yet slightly spicy flavor that is as soft as warm caramel on the tongue. There are also subtle hints of vanilla and maybe even some toffee. At times I’ve tasted (or did I imagine it?!) slight tastes of banana but definitely some sweet spices! As for the aroma of the ale… well… it really smells like banana nut bread!
Keep in mind that Belgian ales are thought to be amongst the best in the world. They are very complex but very, very rewarding to the ale connoisseur! So grab ya some Leffe… get it as cold as you can, pour you a glass and enjoy this awesome ale!

Deep gold colour with no head, sweet malt and bubblegum aroma, sweet strong bubbly malt taste and a slightly bitter aftertaste, I love it.

My favorite beer. Cloves, banana overtures in a semi sweet, super easy to drink beer. I first had this in Holland (Nijmegen or Den Bosch perhaps). I can’t get it in Iowa, but some of the neighboring states have it. Currently making a home brew clone recipe of this.
As others have said, the snobbiest of beer snobs may not give it high scores, but it is one tasty beverage.
