Uses Vieux Temps yeast which gives the clove-like flavour.
"Leffe Blond is a pale abbey beer, with a full, sunny, golden colour. It has a smooth and full bodied taste and a rich creamy head. Like all the Leffe beers, it is a ’connoisseur’ beer that is easy to drink."

Love it. Caramel color and very smooth spiced flavor. Aroma of light oak and spice. An excellent beer. Made me very happy to drink it. Delicious.

UPDATED: JAN 25, 2007 bottle: Amazing beer which always reminds me of xmas! Great example of Belgian Ale. Also a great example of a stronger beer (6.5%) that isn’t overwhelmed by alcohol taste (e.g. Sinha Stout). Pours sunny yellow with nice puffy white head. Tastes exactly like it smells: sweet yet acidic, fruity & yeasty. You can really taste fruit in here llike appricot or bananas, hard to tell. Here is a beer which has big, bold flavours but still is smooth (unlike Mill Street’s Coffe Porter). I always get the sense that if this beer had 1 more bit of flavour it would all fall to pieces & go to hell, but this hangs together.

Very nice deep yellow color. Very Thick head. Aroma is of hops and grains with a hint of honey in the background, not grassy at all. Taste is very bold, but yet mellow, drinks very easy with a decent after taste. A truely great beer.

UPDATED: JUN 3, 2007 Pours golden with white head. Unusually clear for a belgian ale. Aroma smells like sugar and bread, hints of sour fruit. Flavor is sweet, hints of bitter hops, some grassy flavors alongside sour/citrus fruit, a little spice (coriander). The mouthfeel is medium - not particularly light, but certainly not syrupy. Carbonation is just right. Overall, quite satisfying - would make a fantastic session beer (although a little strong)

dark rich gold. actually is very easy to drink, due to sweetness and fruitiness.

LIght golden color with exceptional clarity. Nose has that yeasty and floral smell that is indicative of a Belgian. Very smooth and creamy with a long finish. Senses are a bit dulled from the 9% Chimay Bleue I just consumed, but this is a great beer.

Pleasantly surprised - billed as an ale - but upon pouring, smells reminiscent of good wheat brews (I guess that’s the ’Belgian’ aspect for you) - I dinged the ’appearance’ because the head looked a little too sterile (color of detergent, like your major American players) - which made for an even more surprising satisfaction with the taste - full bodied, fizzy, but not excessively - sweet, but not overpowering, after-taste lingered quite a while - definitely not powered by adjuncts - I drank 12 oz bottle, but could easily see parking myself on a bar stool and ordering out of the tap all day long...

Probably my least favorite Leffe beer. Not that its not amazing, but its a little light for my taste. Still it looks great and has a tan appearance with a nice head. Goes down incredibly smooth but taste leaves a little to be desired.
