Dark golden colour. Flavour is a moderately bitter malty blond beer with just the right amount of honey sweetness to make it easily drinkable. Not great but okay.

Bottle from the Bierschuur in Poppel. The beer has golden blonde color and a large white head. In the aroma tones of vanilla, flowers, cloves, fruits and a lot of honey. The taste is light sweet with a bitterness in the end. Further a lot of honey and the standard Leffe taste. The finish is sweet with a light bitterness. Pretty standard this beer, I prefer a Leffe blonde.

1/IV/14 - 25cl bottle @ home - BB: ? (no marking on the side of the label to indicate a date) (2014-323) Thanks to Katie and Kevin for the bottle!

Clear pale orange beer, irregular creamy white head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet and sugary, quite some honey, bit soapy, floral, coriander notes. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: sweet sugary start, some honey, unpleasant bitterness. Aftertaste: sugary, honey, sweet and cloying, yuck, overripe banana, other fruits, mainly overripe pears. Why do I even bother?

25cl, new brew Anno 2012, with honey, thx to tderoeck!, not complex sweet brew, sweet/floral and slightly malty/fruity, not too heavy, yet not balanced, clear, small head, nothing special

250 ml bottle bought at CitySuper in Habour City, Tsim Sha Tsui.

Clear dull golden honey colour with no sediments; Three-quarter finger head and crumpety white foam which lasts for 1 minute; Very good sticky lacing and fizzy carbonation; Fragrant sweet aroma of malt, with strong banana, honey, pollen, vanilla, ester, light caramel, sugar, light Bel yeast and very light lemon; Sweet taste of malt, with honey, light banana, brown sugar, light floral nectar, light Bel yeast, light lemon, sharp bitter hops and faint grass; Light body, quite slick and slightly creamy palate; Mouth feel is Leffe Blonde plus loads of dull, not-so-fresh honey: pretty thick, close to sluggish, strong nectar taste, feel kinda gloomy and unexciting. Otherwise its Blonde taste were well-kept, the banana, molasses and yeasty taste are all here. Hmm… Hoppiness is strong floral and light lemon nose and taste. Sharp bitterness to give some spikes over the honey sweetness for a lasting sweet-bitter finish; Slightly dry after taste. Sweet and creamy to mouth.

Comments: “If it ain’t broke than don’t fix it.” It’s risky to put something extra to the otherwise decent and solid Leffe Blonde. Here they put dull-tasting honey and nectars as a new beer, and the result is uninspiring and close to cloying. Not a drain pours but won’t try again.

Medium white head. Clear deep yellow body with light carbonation. Fruity honeyish plastic aroma with spicy oily notes. Dry-sweet papery spicy honey taste with fruity wooden notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish spicy plastic honey aftertaste with mealy sugary notes. Not bad at all, and quite nice. Don’t really know if the honey makes it any better than normal Leffe, but either way it’s a perfectly decent beer. (0.33l bottle, gift from wife.)
