Bottle at home. Pours an amber color with a creamy tan head. Aroma of fruits, cinnamon, some cream, spices, clove and a malty base. Flavor is surprisingly bitter, with only a hint of sweetness and very spicy. Quite ok creamy texture and a bitter finish.

Pours deep red brown with an off-white head and minimal lacing. Aroma of malt and alcohol. Clear pouring. Quite off-putting but I can’t my finger on why. It lacks distinction. It is very mediocre. Medium carbonation and light body. Flavour of alcohol and maltiness but again, nothing to write home about. I wouldn’t have it again.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 dutchbeerpages (770) - Wilnis, NETHERLANDS - FEB 26, 2010
Interesting flavor experience. Starts sweet and slightly metallic, but then goes round the mouth and warms it. Back to skating now
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 GregClow (2645) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 21, 2010
Bottle from a Leffe giftpack. Ruby-amber with a creamy off-white head. Aroma is fairly generic as far as strong Belgian ales go - notes of yeast, dried fruit, spice, all pleasant but very nondescript. Flavour is similarly enjoyable - nice candi sugar sweetness, a yeasty/spicy tang, mild boozy heat and pleasing bitterness in the finish - but ultimately, it’s not an especially memorable beer.
