3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 jonno (1312) - JAPAN - JAN 29, 2010
A great into for novices in to belgian beers as it forgoes the belgian spicy yeast, though is a little plainer for it. A multinational abbey it checks all the boxes without highlighting them. Sweet and smooth.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 11/20 Listigovers (216) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 29, 2010
Pours reddish amber with a fluffy cream coloured head. Aroma is yeasty, fruity, and not overly strong or interesting. Great mouthfeel, full bodied, tingles the back of your tongue. Flavour is fairly rich in character, and interesting, but not my favourite.
This rating is slightly biased, I was drinking initially out of a Chimay glass and a piece of metal from the rim chipped off in my mouth giving it a horrible taste. I switched glasses and it was better, but my first impression was tainted. Regardless, Leffe Brune is a better beer for me.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 dEnk (1592) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - JAN 24, 2010
Clear dark brown (all right, amber), small instantly dissipating head.
Aroma of forest fruits, some hops and some spices, lightly alcoholic.
Unexpected full flavour of smoke, forest fruits, hops, malts, some spices an alcohol, sweet start, lightly bitter finish. Lasting after taste of smoke and fruits. Different, but not really interesting.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 delnoche (352) - GERMANY - JAN 24, 2010
33cl bottle poured into a Leffe chalice. Sparkling amber brown with two fingers off-white head. Aroma is biscuit, candy sugar, spices. Flavor has notes of cherries, caramel, biscuit, slight alcohol. Very nice. Finish is slightly bitter. Enjoyable beer.

0,3 liter fles. Toch een lekker biertje ondanks het hoge percentage alcohol.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 PaulHegedus (505) - Ontario, CANADA - JAN 3, 2010
Bottle. It is a brown colour with an amber hue in the light, poured in a goblet with a healthy, yeasty white head that leaves a fair bit of lace on the glass. The aroma is spicy with more yeast, apple, lemon, orange, fresh plum. Mouthfeel is fairly spritzy, also a bit thin. I taste some more of the apple with some bready malt, light nuts. The finish is a bit soapy as it lingers.
