Aroma is strong of cherry and cinamon. Dark color that is still somewhat transparent. Substantial carbonation. Flavor is dominated by cherry and alcohol. Spices are also prominent. Not bad, but ends with a bit of a harsh astringent aftertaste.

One of the better beers from the Leffe stable--something that can compete with the trappists and the better abbey beers. Of course, it’s tough to get in Belgium (where the deeply inferior Blond predominates), and impossible to get in the US. A pity.

(on bottle) ´bit more spicy than the other leffe. Dark amber brown, with e reddish tone. Much fruit and spices in the nose, less in the flavour. Ends a tad paper-ish.

Brown with light brown head, large, almost disappearing. Aroma of burnt malt and fruity bitterness of hops. Flavor moderate bitter, well balanced. Medium to full body, creamy, normal corbonation.

Very nice beer indeed! Dark brown, deep red coloured. Fruity taste, with the taste of different herbs and a smooth bitterness. Complex and very tasty!

UPDATED: OCT 26, 2005 Satisfying big-flavoured strong Belgian ale. Poured a bottle-brown colour with a short but lasting head. The nose is heavily alcoholic but with plenty of fruit and a hint of toast! Full-bodied and almost port-like in intensity. Ripe cherries and spices on the tongue, with hints of whisky and then a rummy bitter finish. Complex and satisfying. This has more body than the Vieille Cuvee. (Bottle)

Kraftig duft af kirsebær. Flot rødbrun farve, stort fyldigt skum. Kirsebær er også meget tydelig i smagen. Dejlig balance. Me like!

Bottled. Aroma is malty, sweet and fruity, particularly dark cherries. Caramelly, malty taste, some fruitiness and some spiciness. Nice.

Pour is ruby amber with a dense at first tan head fading into a thin layer...smell is earth fruit and alcohol with a touch of yeast...taste is typical Belgian Strong...earth fruits specifically plums, a little overly sweet with a sticky alcohol finish...

Reddish-amber in colour with a beige head which although small lasts quite well. Aroma of hops, spice and caramel. Slightly dry but well balanced with a spicy bite at the front of the tongue. Flavour of hops, cinnamon, dry apple cider balanced by enough malty sweetness without being cloying. A nice beer to hold in the mouth and note the changes on the way down. Glad to be back with the style I like after Orval & Rodenbach Grand Cru.
