3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours orange/amber with medium low head. Aromas of spice and fruit esters with subtle malt in background. Flavors of clove, bubblegum, malt with a warming finish from the 8.2%. Good head retention. Carbonation lends to creamy mouthfeel. Bottle in good condition from Belgian Shop.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Bottle) Brown with orange shine, clear body, yellowish head, glass sticking. Very perfumed, like a sixteen y.o. girl on saturday night, raisin, orange, "egg bread" soaked in marsala, cherry jam, weak vanilla. Taste is sweet, with note of citrus, caramel, a bit flat. Warming, full body, taste and palate without surprise, not very original. Pleasant without soul.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled. Dark red-amber with coffee froth head. Spicy, winter fruit aroma albeit fairly subtle, restrained and alluring rather than overpowering. Malty, warm, soothing fruit, enjoyable but Iíve had better.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark amber/brown in colour with a thin head of low persistence. Very malty both in aroma and in flavour. Hints of caramel and raisins in the nose. A little fruity in the mouth, sweet. Hop and alcohol not evident. Quite honest abbey ale.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Onlyfinebeer. Poured a clear dark amber colour, with a good, just off-white head. Aroma is fresh and spicey with some background sweet maltiness. Interesting taste; malty, fruity, lightly roasted. The flavour seems to go through distinct and quite different phases, a little disjointed perhaps; taste is perhaps at its most enjoyable near the end. Nice sweet and slightly bitter aftertaste. Full bodied, creamy and smooth. Itís growing on me as I type.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Old brown color with shine of red exotic wood and bone like colored head. Nose of Pear stuffed in red wine, cinnamon, light roasted malts and cheep Port. It has a medium taste with some roundness. In the afthertaste there is some maltyness with candy sugar, dried sultanas and an unineresting bitterness that stays too long on the pallet.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a fluffy head but disapates quickly. Chocolate brown hue, ever so slightly cloudy. Quite lifted nose with some sweet, spicy almost cinammon notes. Nice mouthfeel, plenty of fizz early but disappears at the back. Fairly sweet palate, thickens a little but nevery cloys. Good length and carries the 8.2% with ease. No heat to speak of. Like the stablemate Vieille Cuvee a sipper (ie one bottle a session) drink but to my mind a better drop.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Rating 609 Bottle from Pitfield Beer Shop, London. 330ml. Served in a Leffe glass. Rich red colour, clear (not bottle conditioned), fluffy white head. Aroma is fruity, smoky and perhaps yeasty (reminds me of Delerium Tremens). Creamy & malty. Smoke, pepper, spice with fruit a perhaps a slight wheat character?. Tasty.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
33 cl bottle, bought in Denmark. ABV was 8.2%. Large thick head, clear reddish brown colour. Surprisingly weak aroma, but what there is, is pleasant: Ripe and dried fruits, just a faint hint of barnyard. Flavour has malts and spices and a great deal of alcoholic warmth.
