3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Scopey (1179) - Croydon, Surrey, ENGLAND - MAR 19, 2011
Bottle from Utobeer. It pours reddish brown with a thick beige head. The nose is sweet dark fruits: date, fig, raisin, plum, blackberry and caramel and cocoa. The taste is wood, dark fruits, caramel, nut, guava, burnt toast and Pepsi! The mouth-feel is sticky and the finish lightly bitter. Overall the smell is pretty good, but the taste just doesn’t deliver.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 77ships (744) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - MAR 15, 2011
bottle@home: too watery taste, aftertaste heavy on spices, little else, minor sugars & raisins, like a variation on their Brune, the “special” Leffe’s are marketing > taste in my opinion, the regular ones are ok for what they are

Bottle bought at Carrefour, Calais, France. A ruby/brown coloured pour with a very healthy head on top. Sweet, caramel, Belgian aroma. Tastes sweet, caramel, fruity, spice. Pretty decent for an InBev mass produced Belgian beer.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Marko (2977) - Split, CROATIA - FEB 26, 2011
Bottle from a Carrefour in Ypres after another, purchased in a SPAR in Leuven the day before died in an accident (that I didn’t cause :P). Anyway, clear golden body, nice, slightly off white head. Typical Leffe sweet malty nose with spice and candied orange peel. Sweeter than average, kinda messy, malt dominated, strange herbal/vegetable dry notes, perfumey spicy notes too. The spicines is a bit too present and extends into the aftertaste. More warming than it has any right to be. Still, not really that bad a beer (though hardly a good Belgian).
3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 kevinsenn (182) - Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 11, 2011
Nice brown colour with a sweet fruity aroma. Starts off sweet and spicy, finishes with alcohol notes and some bitterness. Very nice strong Belgian ale.

Nice brown colour with a nice off white head that laces beautifully. Aroma is very fruity. Taste is initially sweet then comes the loooong medium bitter finish. Feels great in the mouth. Beautifully balanced. Lovely beer
