UPDATED: OCT 6, 2011 Dark red/brown liquid smells of raisins and bread. Constant but small off white head. Smooth and full flavored in the mouth that did not carry over from the aroma, touches on caramel. No harsh alcohol bite only a nice warm belly.

Clear dark brown (all right, amber), small instantly dissipating head.
Aroma of forest fruits, some hops and some spices, lightly alcoholic.
Unexpected full flavour of smoke, forest fruits, hops, malts, some spices an alcohol, sweet start, lightly bitter finish. Lasting after taste of smoke and fruits. Different, but not really interesting.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 JonMoore (1573) - Loughborough, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - SEP 17, 2004
Bottle from Onlyfinebeer. Poured a clear dark amber colour, with a good, just off-white head. Aroma is fresh and spicey with some background sweet maltiness. Interesting taste; malty, fruity, lightly roasted. The flavour seems to go through distinct and quite different phases, a little disjointed perhaps; taste is perhaps at its most enjoyable near the end. Nice sweet and slightly bitter aftertaste. Full bodied, creamy and smooth. It’s growing on me as I type.

330ml bottle from an LCBOgift pack. pours orangish red with a lasting head. aroma of pils malt and candy. flavour of grainy pils malt, amber candies sugar. the finish is dry and slightly bitter. this brew has the classic leffe profile which is not a bad way to introduce someone to belgian ales but its a very macro way of making this style. this offering is moderately complex and actually quite enjoyable.
