3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 hawthorne00 (1306) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - DEC 19, 2009
Red amber, creamy light beige head. Aroma of pears, blackcurrants and a little grass. Alcohol is fairly well disguised. Honey and clove fruits with a yeasty mouthfeel and some astringency. A nice, balanced drop, but there are no hidden depths.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Nickls (1297) - SE DC, Washington DC, USA - APR 29, 2010
(Old BA rate - bottle)
Ruby brown color, with a nice thick slightly off-white head. Fruity and malty, with a little bit of sourness that reminded me of cherries. Definitely strong on the malt (good for the style), but back to the fruity characteristics found in the aroma. A little spice seems added, which is OK, but not too spectacular. Medium to thicker, and pretty viscous. I would have expected a bit more carbonation. Not too bad in this department, alcohol was well-hidden, but this is a bit to take down. Overall, this was a pretty good brew but pretty sweet
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 trapez (1295) - Hilleroed, DENMARK - JUN 22, 2008
Bottle 0.33 l.Bought Kvickly Hilleroed. Aroma fruits and malt. Red-brown amber colour with huge beige head. Characteristic Leffe-flavour with fuits (plumbs/cherries) and citrus.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 OlJuntan64 (1266) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JUL 6, 2002
Dark amber clear colour with medium size and lasting light tan head. Light floral hops and grainy malt and doughy bread yeast aromas. The immediate impression is one of medium wheat beer body and flavours. The 8.2% (well that’s what it says on my bottle anyway) alcohol is very well masked. The bitter-sweet palate is also well balanced and the finish is dry crisp and clean. Overall - quite nice, but somehwat clinical and somewhat unimaginative for a Belgian. I would imagine this is maybe how the Germans would brew a Belgian. Nevertheless, the Radieuse probably my favorite Leffe.

Bottled. Dark red-amber with coffee froth head. Spicy, winter fruit aroma albeit fairly subtle, restrained and alluring rather than overpowering. Malty, warm, soothing fruit, enjoyable but I’ve had better.
