Bottled. Clear, brown, with an off-white head. The aroma has tobacco, dried fruits, yeast, candisugar, caramel and spices. Sweet, malty flavor with dried fruits and alcohol. Medium body and a finish with alcohol, bitterness and dried fruits. The aroma promises a lot, but the flavor, body and finish don’t live up to it. (060812)

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Christian (8043) - Odense, DENMARK - DEC 28, 2005
UPDATED: NOV 9, 2007 Dark amber with a medium lasting head. Fresh aroma of malt, citrus and raspberries. Well balanced flavour that begins (berry-) sweet and then turns dry and hoppy, but not really distinct in any way. At a reasonable price it’s a bargain, but it’s far from the best strong Belgians.
Aged tasting, best before November 07, tasted November 07: Aroma is very similar. Flavour is slightly oxidized, (rasp)berry clearly dominates the hops now, mouthfeel is big and fat.
