3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 FatPhil (5970) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAR 7, 2008
330ml bottle.
Rich red. small foamy head. Caramel banana and a little alcohol on the nose. Slightly sharp mouthfeel from the carbonation and alcohol, but not offensive. Fairly sweet alcholic taste with a range of accompanying flavours that go from decently roasted malt to yeast to nuttiness to sticky bitterness later. However, the alcohol is a little too prominent, if they could crank that down, I’d like it a lot more. No disaster, certainly, but I prefer their brune any day.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Rastacouere (5900) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 19, 2004
Ruby brown hue with a thin off-white head, well-laced though. Aroma is very very yeasty, but of very restrained depth, sadly so. There's some kind of fruitiness in there that is hard to put words on, but I'd throw oranges and peaches. Mostly dry yeast still and it continues in mouth where it gets slightly more interesting but no big winner. The palate is peppery, fruity, dry with light notes of dust, perhaps a bit too old. Body is almost flat, thin-medium and appears unappropriate.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Sammy (5888) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 17, 2008
Pours a reddish brown and has a spicy yeastiness. Above average mouthfeel. Satisfying though not exceptional Belgian.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Fin (5489) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 15, 2006
Bottle picked up at Sainsburys, Kidlington 14-10-06. This completed the end of my Leffe taste test with Loz’s parents, despite having had these beers hundreds of times before it was about time I rated them, only realised I hadn’t rated them when I went and rated the Leffe 9, so went out and bought the lot apart from the Tripel. After the Tripel this is my second favourite Leffe beer. Poured a reddy/brown colour, little bit of toffee on the nose, smooth and quite full flavoured beer, little bit spicey, also some toffee swilling around again, good tasty beer, still it’s not without its faults as there is a slight alcohol burn there.
2.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 duff (5483) - St, Margarets, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 4, 2001
UPDATED: JAN 29, 2003 way to sweet, and a bit one dimentional, hard to drink actually, alcohol comes through at the enda bit too much.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 daknole (5474) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - SEP 26, 2008
Bottle from belgianbeergal. Pours a reddish color with lots of floaters. Aroma is sweet and fruity. The flavor just doesnt live up to its aroma. The flavor is just a tad to weak. Malt, dried fruit, vanilla, spices. Not bad, but underwhelming. Oh well.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Skinnyviking (5472) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 6, 2007
Bottle. High white creamy lasting head. Clear copper body. Sweet aroma of berries and sugar. Alcohol dominates the flavor of barley malt caramel and some hops bitterness with a sharp edge. Nice and long bitter aftertaste.
