UPDATED: FEB 3, 2007 Second rating.
Sampled from 33 cl bottle at Haket, Göteborg.

Dark copper color, tan head. Acidic almost sour scent. Strong Belgian ale and also malt taste, lots of fruits. Some warming alcohol.

First Rating.
Bottle from Swedish "Systembolaget" in December 2005.
Dark red close to brown color. Smell is almost non existans and taste is weak. Compared side by side to the Leffe Tripel the Tripel wins by at least a mile.

Bottle (330ml). At Saint Alexandre Pub, Québec City. Poured into a Leff goblet, deep slightly hazy chestnut coloured with a small off-white head. Sharply bitter yeast and spice aroma with brown sugar malt, a tang of sourness on warming. Tasted of raisins and apples, sweet spice and sharp bitter yeast, a backbone of soft caramel malt - very pleasing blended/balanced finish after an initial hit of spicy bitterness. Average body, slick and slightly syrupy mouthfeel, very good carbonation and a slight bitter aftertaste - a very nice sipper, I enjoyed it as much or more than the Leffe Brune or Blond - very restrained and dignified.

DruncanVeasey (4800) - NUNEATON, Conference North, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - MAY 27, 2007
UPDATED: MAY 28, 2007 Bottled, Inspire, Coventry. Spritzy red pour blanketed with Gilette. Sweet, cakily malty nose. Opens with a lick of copper penny but develops some cardboard and alcohol. Kind of a turbocharged Belgian John Smith’s. Horribly thin, tinny and papery on top a Tripel Karmeliet. lightweight and characterless for the ABV. But have drank it before and enjoyed it. On this showing, very disappointing.

UPDATED: OCT 1, 2003 Autumn sunset with a mellow campfire of Oriental spices. She dances. Her thighs flicker. The pulsating tongue darts out from the oil and languishes over your body. The night comes. [3.9]
Re-rate. Relais de la Porte d'Eyguieres, Les Baux, Provence. Tea, fig, banana & raspberry aroma. Tea, licorice & prune flavours. Tea coloured. Pleasant with a nice bite of bitterness in the finish.

Bottle. Reddish brown colour with a medium beige head. Spicy and malty aroma. Falvour is fruity with caramel, spices and sweet malt. Smooth body.

Beershine (4561) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - APR 16, 2010
Bottle, during a thunderstorm in KL. Dark amber, clear with lasting cap. Smells as sweet as expected and very strange. Hard to describe. Sour fruit and tamarind. Raisin, plum, lemon candy. Tastes like jeera (cumin) candy. Spicy with a hint of clove. Finishes sweet and spicy. The clarity/filtration prevents the buildup of cloying yeast on the palate but I still find it too sweet. It would be good if the flavors were able to develop more.

Glouglouburp (4558) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 13, 2008
UPDATED: MAY 12, 2008 In short: A boring sugary Belgian ale with no character.
How: Bottle, 330ml, about 3 to 4 months old.
The look: Clear amber body with a small beige head.
In long: Basic sweet malts, medium-high sweetness level, some brown sugar and some candy sugar, some redeeming woody notes both in the malts and hops profile, light caramel, expansive carbonation, short finish. Leffe Radiant?!? I don’t remember anything being so radiant since the foggy cloudy London weather.
