Amber in color, nice off-white head, sugar candy-type nose, nicely balanced, medium-full body, very complex flavors, a very different tasting beer, lots of sweet maltiness, a hint of dryness in the finish, a very different but good strong ale

Yeasty aroma. Reddish hue with an off-white head. Cherry like fruitness and a port like texture. Roasted yeasty finish. The best Leffe beer to date.

Rating 609 Bottle from Pitfield Beer Shop, London. 330ml. Served in a Leffe glass. Rich red colour, clear (not bottle conditioned), fluffy white head. Aroma is fruity, smoky and perhaps yeasty (reminds me of Delerium Tremens). Creamy & malty. Smoke, pepper, spice with fruit a perhaps a slight wheat character?. Tasty.

Wonderful dark reddish colour with a big head. Very nice aroma and flavour of roasted malts, yeast and (light) fruits. Medium bitter finish. Quite refreshing for this strong a Belgian ale.

It’s strong, it’s fruity, it’s heavy, oh it’s another Leffe. An excellent strong Ale with a not-too-sweet fruity palate combined with some bitterness. A nice dark amber body with a smooth head. Be sure to get it in one of those one liter steins. Thumbs up!

UPDATED: MAR 12, 2004 My favorite leffe. Never seems to be on tap and I have to go the brune. This is the big brother, stronger aroma spicy with a hint of green banana. Bitter finish which hides the alcohol a lot but isn't as subtle as could be hoped for. It's nice and it's cheap for the style here. I just wish that some of the sweet malt beginning could have been carried to the end. I'd drink a lot more of these then.

Bottled. A mid brown coloured beer with a large off-white head and good lacing. The aroma is sweet and sugary with caramel fruits and yeasts. The taste is candy sugar and fruitiness. Typically Belgian without being mainstream like you would expect from a multinational beer. Nice malts and nice beer all round.
