3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 fiulijn (10000) - Como, ITALY - FEB 3, 2003
3 years old Well mature bottle. Dark amber color; creamy giant head. Some malt, caramel, spices and grass in the nose; malt, caramel, honey and spices in the flavor; the taste is also completed by a correct bitterness; hides well the alcohol content. Bitter long final.
In my early years I used to consider it my favourite one. Actually it's too poor in character and originality; but it's solidity pushes it to be the best among the Leffe.

A nice dark amber color, clear for a Belgian. Small head but good lacing. Has that fruit filled pastry scent common with Belgians. Like an apple cinnamon danish with almond slices sprinkled over it. A warming spicyness on the lips, like biting a slice of fresh ginger. Sweet but not cloying. All said, it's a solid brew.

Beaut coppercolour, medium head. Typical Leffe nose, some lacing. Good mouthfeel with alcohol well masked, restrained complexity. Probably the pick of the Leffe litter. More please.

Pours orange/amber with medium low head. Aromas of spice and fruit esters with subtle malt in background. Flavors of clove, bubblegum, malt with a warming finish from the 8.2%. Good head retention. Carbonation lends to creamy mouthfeel. Bottle in good condition from Belgian Shop.

33 cl bottle. Ruby tinted, dark brown beer. Aroma is spicy and yeasty. Some heavy spice, leather, dusty, and quite fruity. Apricot, plum, and some flowery aromas. Flavour is quite sweet, but the yeasty spice and fruit keep it well balanced.
