3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Gusler (2655) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - MAR 3, 2002
The beer has that deep ruby brown color that I love, the beige head is generous, the lace adequate. Nose is malt, fruity, maybe a bit of plums? The start sweet, the middle light as is the cabonation, hop spicy, dry, slightly acidic, interesting flavors to say the least.

Deep red in color, enticing aroma. Very tasty. I wonder if I can find it in the States.

[Sampled in 2004.] Had loads of this beer with home from the bike tour in France. Very cheap in a sixpack. My second favorite from Leffe caused by the notes of bitterness, melonfruit, complexbodied, nutflavor, lots of ingredients and a great finish
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 AndrewGeoff (27) - AUSTRALIA - JAN 18, 2005
Reddish-amber in colour with a beige head which although small lasts quite well. Aroma of hops, spice and caramel. Slightly dry but well balanced with a spicy bite at the front of the tongue. Flavour of hops, cinnamon, dry apple cider balanced by enough malty sweetness without being cloying. A nice beer to hold in the mouth and note the changes on the way down. Glad to be back with the style I like after Orval & Rodenbach Grand Cru.

UPDATED: OCT 26, 2005 Satisfying big-flavoured strong Belgian ale. Poured a bottle-brown colour with a short but lasting head. The nose is heavily alcoholic but with plenty of fruit and a hint of toast! Full-bodied and almost port-like in intensity. Ripe cherries and spices on the tongue, with hints of whisky and then a rummy bitter finish. Complex and satisfying. This has more body than the Vieille Cuvee. (Bottle)
