Bottle: Maple syrup nose - very nice. Dark red-amber color and a low lacy head (served in a great glass). Tastes of black cherries, a little nutty in the middle turning slighlty toasted before depositing a sharp spicy finish on the roof of the mouth. Very nice balance, medium body and a decent profile length. Enjoyed this in Paris with YB.

33 cl bottle, bought in Denmark. ABV was 8.2%. Large thick head, clear reddish brown colour. Surprisingly weak aroma, but what there is, is pleasant: Ripe and dried fruits, just a faint hint of barnyard. Flavour has malts and spices and a great deal of alcoholic warmth.

Bottle. Sweet cherry apple aroma. Medium brown color with small head. Sweet malt and yeast flavor with moderate alcohol finish.

Pours a reddish brown and has a spicy yeastiness. Above average mouthfeel. Satisfying though not exceptional Belgian.

33cl bottle shared courtesy of TomDecapolis (thanks!). Bottle labeled best before 11/03/07. Poured a medium and clear reddish/copper color with a large sized off white head. Aromas of dark cherries, raspberries, light yeast, and caramel. Tastes has the same dark cherry and raspberry quality to it with other fruits. Light alcohol finish. Medium sweet with a light tartness to it.

Tasted 03/05/2005. 330ml bottle (exp. 19/07/06) from New World Metro, Wellington.
Pours a beautiful, spiralling, efferevescent and bright, reddish amber. The head is large, off-white, and creamy turning to rocky. Light lacing. Sweet boiled candy and sour fruit are suggested in the nose at first, followed by liqourice and a touch of soap later. Candy, cognac, spices and wood come through in the flavour that is sweet first, followed by a touch of aniseed and a subtle woody, tannic, bitterness. I thought there would be more sour influence in the flavour. Soft, smooth mouthfeel. Palate is warming, with some more spicey woodiness. Very pleasant and much more well balanced than other reviews suggest.

UPDATED: AUG 11, 2010 Shiny red color. Very spicy and fruity
flavours of banana and citrus. Rather powerful alcohol taste. Sweet as well. Overall, very flavourfull, thick and creamy. Nice.
