3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 OlJuntan64 (1266) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JUL 6, 2002
Dark amber clear colour with medium size and lasting light tan head. Light floral hops and grainy malt and doughy bread yeast aromas. The immediate impression is one of medium wheat beer body and flavours. The 8.2% (well that’s what it says on my bottle anyway) alcohol is very well masked. The bitter-sweet palate is also well balanced and the finish is dry crisp and clean. Overall - quite nice, but somehwat clinical and somewhat unimaginative for a Belgian. I would imagine this is maybe how the Germans would brew a Belgian. Nevertheless, the Radieuse probably my favorite Leffe.

Gol;den brown appearance with a full body. Some fruitiness but not overpoweringly so, and quite deceptive as the relatively high alcohol presence doesn’t distract from the complexity of the beer.Left plenty of lacing. A good drink especially in the winter..

UPDATED: OCT 1, 2003 Autumn sunset with a mellow campfire of Oriental spices. She dances. Her thighs flicker. The pulsating tongue darts out from the oil and languishes over your body. The night comes. [3.9] Re-rate. Relais de la Porte d'Eyguieres, Les Baux, Provence. Tea, fig, banana & raspberry aroma. Tea, licorice & prune flavours. Tea coloured. Pleasant with a nice bite of bitterness in the finish.

Smell is kinda sharp with berry fruit. Colour is dark with a very persistant, creamy head. Taste lingers well with elements of berry and fig and hints of licorice. Another well realised Leffe beer.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Sully (1378) - Potts Point, New South Wales, AUSTRALIA - OCT 10, 2003
This is an exceptional beer when initially poured. Very sherry/nutty like presence which is supported by the full body and mouthfeel of the beer. I like the fullness of the beer supported by the hop and malt overtones that balance well. The fruitiness of a complex banana, apple and pear is a typical Belgian note. Leffe is a fine family of beers.

Shiny amber, dark head. Aroma is malty. nutty and vanilla. Nutty, malty flavor. Mild, and with the alcohol well hidden.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 beerheart (237) - Erie, Colorado, USA - JAN 12, 2008
Pours a rich amber with a thin lasting head that laces throughout the drink. The aroma is yeast, dried apricots, aged apples, with hints of raisins and currants. The taste is primarily bread and malt. The taste is a little flat compared to the aroma, and there is a ripe banana flavor that seems slightly out of balance. Finishes with a slight metallic feel. Not nearly as flavorful as other Trippels / Belgian Strong ales. But the only disappointment here is the slightly metallic finish.
