3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 YogiBeera (2436) - Hamburg, GERMANY - MAR 18, 2003
Paris, Place de la Contrescarpe, Cafe Delmas: Nice light framboise nose. Red-orange color, little head leaving brussels laces, soft carbonation. Framboise taste, grapes that makes it bitter at the end. Also some malty tones tasteable. Fullmouth, pricks a little bit. Wonderful on this place after the Rue Mouffetard market in the warm sun.

Pour is ruby amber with a dense at first tan head fading into a thin layer...smell is earth fruit and alcohol with a touch of yeast...taste is typical Belgian Strong...earth fruits specifically plums, a little overly sweet with a sticky alcohol finish...
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Dalle (1145) - Skørping, DENMARK - OCT 5, 2003
Small light brown head and dark red-brown body. Nice aroma; apples, raisins, rum, little spice. Smooth and soft palate. Tastes of less than the aroma makes you anticipate. Little spicy-bitter finish.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 wunderbier (1434) - Tampere, FINLAND - SEP 18, 2005
Deep red-amber hue with a rocky, creamy, off-white head. Cherries, plums, straw, caramel, alcohol, sugar, and a hint of anise. But, mostly the aroma is of very dark fruits. Very sweet throughout with a sharp acidity and an alcohol tinge in the back end. Medium body, velvety texture, fizzy carbonation. Thank Eris I finally figured out what this unlabeled (in my notebook) rating was for! --We’re on a pig’s back charging through a velvet field--

Light fruits and touches of alcohol in the aroma. Clear golden brown with dense off-white head. Fruity, malty, biscuity. Alcohol somewhat apparent. Touches of chocolate and caramel. Pronounced bitterness in the finish. Smooth mouthfeel. Bottle (sampled at Mondial 2004).
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Muggus (193) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - MAR 4, 2004
First Leffe i've ever tried, definately not my last. Quite a strong aroma. Sourish nose with a bit of spice and sweet fruitiness is what I get. Pours clean dark redish amber with tan lacing. A carmally malt beginning a fair bit of alcohol gets through quite quickly. A number of sour fruity notes along with way, maybe apple, and a fair bit of spice towards the end. Creamy kind of mouthful that is a bit let down by the quite apparent alcohol. Very nicely flavoured beer, maybe lacking enough to mask the alcohol as so many other Belgian strongs do so well.
