Bov (7098) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - NOV 1, 2001
UPDATED: MAR 1, 2005 clear red-amber colour, creamy head and a nice lacing, caramel and grassy aroma, vegetal, slightly toasted, a touch of licorice, full-bodied, dry and bitter finish with reminiscence of fruits and malt

Belgik (72) - Sterrebeek, BELGIUM - MAR 7, 2002
Medium-thick off-white to light-brown foam over a limpid reddish-brown brew. Not very apparent aroma at first, widening to a malty and fruity herbaceous nose of no great distinction. Medium-bodied and rather sweet malty flavor, with some bitters in the end. The beer is of medium-intensity, the ending slightly bitter, and overall this is yet another medium-quality commercial beer, nay, Belgian Ale...and NOT up to Trappist quality by a long shot...

rauchbier (3135) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - FEB 14, 2007
Bottle. Chestnut red, good off white head and moderate condition. Malty sweet with some caramel and a vague sense of mushroom funkiness in the nose, sweet buttery malt and peppery hop bitterness in the mouth with some chocolate and fig notes, gentle bitterness in the finish with some lingering sweet chocolate.

Dragonblaze99 (354) - Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 26, 2002
Sweet and sour taste, with a note of tropical fruits and spices, especially banana. Finishes off rather flat. Pretty well balanced, with no strong alcohol tang, though this is a fairly strong ale. A pleasant beer.

Nate (3026) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 26, 2003
Nice aroma. Light yeast component. Bit sweet with some malts, caramel. Dark fruits, hops. Copper brown clear with very thin off-white head. Med-heavy watery body with vibrant carb. Light sweet malts. Caramel & some raisin. Nice light floral hops give bitter dry finish. Nutty bitter dry after. Some musty grass components.

larsga (4435) - Oslo, NORWAY - FEB 24, 2007
Big offwhite shiny head. Deep red body. Acidic fruity licorice aroma. Deep roasty lightly acidic taste with notes of wood and cinnamon. Dry, spicy, lightly metallic aftertaste. Some dustiness in aftertaste mouthfeel. A sharp, bitter quality in the mouth grows stronger as you drink. Not bad, has character. (0.33l bottle.)

A fairly strong beer, with loads of flavours, lightly sour taste, but none the less refreshing and warm.

Papsoe (21781) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 1, 2005
UPDATED: JAN 8, 2006 (Bottle 33 cl) Reddish brown ale. Pronounced bitterness with a very complex aroma. Fruity, perfumy but far from cloying. A very spicy and unique brew. 120493
