3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Belial (71) - BELGIUM - SEP 23, 2005
UPDATED: MAR 24, 2011 A very small head, Leffe Ambrée has a deep red colour and red-fruits aromas with a very small bit of salty taste additionnally. A good amber beer that seems to be a light ale actually.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 SeanMacGC (330) - Dublin, IRELAND - NOV 18, 2008
Bottle, 33cl. Pours translucent dark mahogany, with short-lived off-white head, some lacing. Cherry, malt and yeast on the nose, and very sweet on the palate, too sweet in fact. A shadow of a beer in comparison to a genuine secondarily fermented beer, and added sugar is no substitute.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Borresteijn (2762) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - AUG 19, 2008
Bottle @ Café Gollem. Amber colour, white head. Malty aroma, caramel, fruits, spice. Flavour is malty sweet, fruity, a bit spicey. Like a strong version of Palm Speciale. Not my style, too many "amber" flavours.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 mile (1459) - Helsinki, FINLAND - AUG 15, 2011
Bottle. Dark brown - reddish, small and fully diminishing light brown head. Moderate, malty and sweetish aroma, fruitiness – berries and some spiciness. Body is medium, malty and sweetish flavor, fruitiness, caramel and some spiciness, faint alcohol. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish, fruitiness and some spiciness, alcohol. Fruity Belgian strong ale with lots of alcohol in the finish – nothing special.

Pours reddish amber with a fluffy cream coloured head. Aroma is yeasty, fruity, and not overly strong or interesting. Great mouthfeel, full bodied, tingles the back of your tongue. Flavour is fairly rich in character, and interesting, but not my favourite.
This rating is slightly biased, I was drinking initially out of a Chimay glass and a piece of metal from the rim chipped off in my mouth giving it a horrible taste. I switched glasses and it was better, but my first impression was tainted. Regardless, Leffe Brune is a better beer for me.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Mjollnir (335) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - DEC 23, 2009
330mL bottle. Pours a clear amber brown with a slightly off-white head, leaving a fair amount of lacing. Yeasty aroma with berries and a bit of spice behind it. Some roasty flavours early on, more fruity when it’s warmed up a bit, fairly sweet, mildly sour, the alcohol is apparent but not excessively so at lower temperatures. Medium bodied, could be a little less heavily carbonated, sour finish giving way to bitterness.

Same bottle as pictured. Poured light red/brown with hints of light fruits and strong belgian yeast notes. Smooth finish.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 JEK69 (137) - FRANCE - MAY 2, 2012
Drunk in a pub, from bottle.
Pours amber with medium foam head.
Semi-sweet beer with hints of red berries. Malty driven with yeast estery notes. A bit short in mouth, maybe due to the "too cold" serving T°C.
Not a bad beer. I’d say a nice easy available beer.
