tomer (167), Israel Sep 5, 2007 0.33L bottle. faint aromas of malt, small head, clear brown colour with red taints.
Extremly bitter at first, but as the beer warms up, sweet flavours of caramel and stewed fruits appear. The finish is sour, short and not too appealing.
Borresteijn (509), Amstelveen, Netherlands Aug 19, 2008 Bottle @ Café Gollem. Amber colour, white head. Malty aroma, caramel, fruits, spice. Flavour is malty sweet, fruity, a bit spicey. Like a strong version of Palm Speciale. Not my style, too many "amber" flavours. Sammy (3041), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 17, 2008 Pours a reddish brown and has a spicy yeastiness. Above average mouthfeel. Satisfying though not exceptional Belgian. tarjei (1154), Bryne, Norway Jul 20, 2008 330 ml bottle, bought in shop in Oostende. Brown color, nice off-white head. Aroma is malty with a kind of «oldness», some spices. Flavor is sweet malt and some spices, rustic sourness and fruit. Dry finish. Strange, but interesting beer. BoBoChamp (635), Gent, Belgium Jul 19, 2008 33cl, from Hopduvel Gent, complex, but easy to drink, clear, very small head, nice brew REDBOSOX (28), Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts, USA Jul 5, 2008 I really like this beer! It’s a beautiful brownish red with lesser head than most Leffe beers. It’s surprisingly smooth for an 8.2% beer. It’s got a good fruity flavor with a nice light mix of caramel. It has a good finish to me. Overall, a very impressive beer. Not a surprise for a Leffe beer.
