This beer seems to be a marketing construct. Interesting red colour, very tangy fruit aroma which follows to a raspberry-and-cherry fruit flavour. Quite sweet. Certainly drinkable but disappointing when far superior Belgian beers are available. Seems to be made specifically as a crossover beer, or to attract those who donít usually drink beer?

Tasted 17/3/15. Draught at Brusselís Cafe, Arras, France. Poured a clear ruby/garnet red colour with a one-finger slightly pink foamy head that retained OK and left OK filmy lace. Carbonation low and fine. Aroma very sweet lemonade-like with subtle pink roses. Taste slightly rose water-like. Light body. Smooth, sweet, nice - one at a time is enough; one to sip wine-like.

Bottle 0,33 ml. Ruby with small head. Red fruits in aroma and taste. Sweet and fizzy.

Bottle from Mitra Bunnik, BB 12/09/15, small sample (put the rest in my pasta sauce :P) Clear orange to amber color, short frothy head. Aroma of lots of red fruit, cough syrup, flowery (rose wood?), slight tart even. Quite sweet in taste. Again very much reminds me of cough syrup, not a fond memory. Quite interesting, but also it feels a bit artificial. Meh.

330cc bottle. Pours ruby with pinkish head. Nice in the nose. Berries, red fruits but then is too sweet and a bit boring. Not a fan

Not a huge fan of this one, despite being a huge fan of both Belgian beers and fruit beers specifically. Problem is that the Ruby is basically just rose hip juice added to (and thereby watering down) an abbey dubbel. Would prefer not to have again

Tap (Bon Viviant!, Riga). Clear red ruby color. Massive thick foamy beige-pink head, stays. Looks nice. Raspberries, cranberries, fruity, bit sweet, straw in aroma. Raspberries, touch of minerals, sweetish, cranberries, fruity, very faint metallic notes in taste. Juicy, but also papery and dry mouthfeel. Juicy and refreshing. Excellent morning beer!

Tap (Bon Vivant, Riga)
Looks a bit watery in the glass, frothy head, settles to look pretty scummy. Sweet rosewater aroma, perfume, some raspberry, cranberry pomegranite. Hint of rose pepper too. Lightish palate, quite drinkable, not too sweet. Taste follows the aroma, just a little bit more of the rose pepper. No sign of any alcohol, itís a great breakfast beer.

Pours a clear ruby color, topped with an average off-white head. Sweet and fruity aroma, strawberry and other berries. Taste is quite sweet, some brady and soury notes also present. Not bad for a fruit beer, although perhaps a bit too sweet.
