4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 kerenmk (414) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - NOV 22, 2011
Bottle from a local supermarket. Brown, clear color and minimal foam. Lovely Vanilla, Jasmin and bubblegum in the nose, sweetish-alcoholic taste, smooth and soft, quite long aftertaste. Very enjoyable.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ElDesmadre (483) - Mikołów, POLAND - NOV 17, 2011
Bottle. Red-brown with a frothy yet not too durable head. Aroma is a cherry-raspberry fruitiness nicely balanced by a quite pronounced mix of phenols, hops and spices, plus some roseflower and some acidity. Medium carbonation, full flavoured but not overbearing taste. Soft with a light to medium bitterness that lingers for quite a while. Aftertaste is fruity with roseflower joining subtle notes of wood and some slightly astringent alcohol that additionally provides a warming effect. Everything is in its right place here.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Davros (1024) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - NOV 4, 2011
Pours copper with a small fading head.
Nose shows doughy yeast, spicy phenols, sultanas and rich golden syrup. somewhat faint though.
Sweet flavours, more sultanas and brown sugar, not much else though. Very moreish however.
Carbonation is suitably high.
Leffe’s most impressive?

Perfume-like aroma has banana, yeast and some hints of alcohol. Somewhat sweet flavour has ripe fruits and hints of alcohol and spices. Surprisingly good for a Leffe.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 canicule (90) - IRELAND - OCT 21, 2011
33cl bottle. Dull amber colour. Sharp smell - yeast and barnyard as well as a slight vinegar aroma (not too appetising). Foamy and full in the mouth, nice. Tastes flavoursome, like a mix between an oud bruin and a regular Leffe blonde. Slightly sweet (orangey) and sour taste, with some hops coming in at the finish. Not without its charms, I guess.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 lusikka (2536) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 15, 2011
330 ml bottle. BBE 15.4.2013.
Pours a dark amber colour with a large, thick, white head. Aroma of strong dark fruits and alcohol. Flavour of caramel malts, strong plums, orange and bitter hops. Medium bodied, quite rich mouthfeel and a finish of plums and caramel. Overall a rich Belgian strong ale with loads of fruitiness.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 mile (1459) - Helsinki, FINLAND - OCT 1, 2011
Bottle. Dark amber, average and mostly diminishing head. Moderate, malty and sweetish aroma, fruitiness and caramel, light spiciness and yeast. Body is medium, malty - lightly wheaty and sweetish flavor, light fruitiness and caramel, faint spiciness and bread. Finish is average, malty - lightly wheaty and sweetish, some caramel and alcohol, faint spciciness. Belgian strong ale - nothing to stand out from the crowd.
