Suutuntumaltaan Leffe Vieille Cuvée on kevyehkö. Runkoa saisi ehkä olla hieman enemmän.

Brown reddish coloured beer with small white head and only few carbonation. Malty sweet aroma with a granny touch. Finish is bitter with malty and spicy touches, ending rather dry and sweet.

Bottle 33 cl. Poured copper in colour with fluffy tan head. Leaves a nice lacing on the glass. Berries and dark fruits in aroma with some sour notes. Spicy, fruity and quite hoppy flavour. Pleasant malty and fruity finish.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours a dark ruby with a small off white head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is a little bit muted. But some sweet nuttyness comes through, as well as dark fruits - mainly plums. Flavour is made up of plums, caramel and toasted malts. Slightly sweet. Good

330ml bottle. Dark in colour like the skin of a plum. Sandy coloured head that is deep and leaves lacing on the glass. Plums and nectarine in the aroma with nutmeg and cinnamon. Velvet like on the palate with strong intense alcohol flavour and some plum pudding flavours also.

Old rate. Sampled in Rome Italy, bottle from corner store. Poured a dark ruby, big off white head. Fruity aroma, with a yeasty tone. Big, creamy mouthfeel, bit spicy with good amount of hops. Better than their more pedestrian beers.

330ml bottle. Pours a clear, dark chestnut, with floating yeast and a huge pillowy white head. This lasts well, and leaves behind ample lace. The aroma is a bit muted, but there are some sweet nutty notes, a hint of buttered toast and a yeasty dough note in there. It starts off much more hoppy than most Belgian beers, with a bitter herbal and citrus taste. This melds seamlessly with some espresso malt coming in towards the middle and a complex finish, which blends smoother malt notes with pine hops. Quite different to many others of the style, and a nice ale indeed.

bottle, poured into a weizen glass. aroma is warm, rich and robust. The body is a luscious golden brown, burnt amber hue. the head is full and soapy. this beer has the overtones of yeast, rich malt and molasses. slightly bitter with a medium finish. Judging from the label "abbaye de Abdi van" this is another beverage from the men of the clergy, I am saved...amen
