4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: MAY 18, 2003 Vieille Cuvee, as the name indicates, is the beer of the Leffe range that takes most time and care to brew. It is brewed to be drunk slowly, with long delicious drafts.
Taste: Creamy and very aromatic.
This is a beautiful brew.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
This beer pours dark rosy brown with a lacing rim of glass coating head. The smell is caramel sweet but the beer lacks the mouthfeel that you come to expect from good Belgian beers. Very good flavour but not as full as I’d like.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Deep red-orange, foamy head. Strong sweet nose of caramel malt, toffee apple, some cough drop. Light to medium carbonation, with creamy mouthfeel. Sweet and deceptively deep, though the alcohol is quite prominent. Delicious on a rainy afternoon.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, 33cl. Pours dark copper and chestnut, with short-lived off-white, quite thin, head, some lacing. Rounded on the nose, of hops, honey and malt, with fruity notes. Similar on the palate, though yeastier and quite light-bodied mouthfeel, and very sweet with slightly bitter aftertaste. A shadow of a beer in comparison to a genuine secondarily fermented beer, and added sugar is no substitute.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This one pours a pretty red colour, with a small head that doesn’t last for too long. Aroma is floral, cherries, chololate, cinnamon. Flavor is smooth, very creamy. Taste: is an explosion in the mouth, flowers, honey, chocolate, cherries, cinnamon... but all of them very shy. I think to remember a heavier body years ago.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
More bitterness and flavor then other Leffe’s, but you notice the ABV a little too much. Some metalic flavor in the back. It’s sweet, but not extraordinary for being a belgian ale.

Dark amber colour, with a nice creamy head. The flavour is spicy and fruity with a medium bitter finish. A good commercial Belgian beer.
