COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Asylum is in the style of a Belgian Tripel. It has a beautiful golden color. Its relatively light body is deceiving for a beer of its character. It has a sweet and spicy, complex fruity aroma and flavor derived from our distinct Belgian yeast strain. Asylum finishes with a subtle, warming character to help you relax on any night. Asylum is an exceptionally smooth Belgian-style brew. Drinking great beer brings the world together. “Vrede op aarde” (Peace on earth).

Taste is citrus, mango, yeast and pepper. Really unique and interesting. I’ll have this one again.

Bottle @ home. Clear, golden orange appearance with an off white head. A bit spicy yeasty, rich lemon/tangerine citrusy, a little bready aroma. A bit cloying, tangy clementine citrusy, slightly spicy flavor. A little too strong.

Bottle. Pours with a rich, solid head -- indeed, the head is taking up half of my Duvel tulip glass and shows no sign of diminishing. It looks like blown insulation. Intense orange on the nose, with a spicy undertone and a touch of barnyard. The beer itself is a dark orange-gold. On the tongue -- GAH. Too sweet. WAY too sweet, like cheap orange candy. Not at all pleasant. I can’t recommend this one at all.

Orangish amber hazy with a thin head. Nice Belgian yeast aroma and flavor. Light fruit characters smooth flavor and dry finish. Decent brew.

At 11.8 this was a tough one to end the night on. Orange/yellow with a good head. Some spice in the aroma and a malty, spicy taste with a bit of sugar along for the ride. A good beer for drinking slowly.

Big yeast and bread aroma with subtle coriander undertones. Very light pale gold in color with a huge foam top. Sweet bread-like flavor with some caramel malt in the background. Big carbonation with a slightly thick, creamy texture. Overall, a less than decent beer. Something is very off about the flavors. I’d give this a C- rating
