3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber from The Cove, a mini market close by our hotel with a few locals. Nose is candisugar, vanilla, caramel toffee. Clear gold with a medium, lightly lacing, off white head. Flavor is moderately sweet vanilla caramel chews with a tiny hint of background bitterness and no hint of the totally covered 11.8%. Exceptionally pleasant drinking after a full day at Disneyland.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
In a flight on 13th March 2014 at the Back Bay Bar inside Wholefoods store in Newport Beach. Slight haze to my golden pour, a white wisp and collar for a covering. Most likely the sweetest ’Belgian Style Tripel’ I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a few). Honey Melon came to mind as I sipped this inbetween the other three beers on the little wooden paddle my flight sat on. Maybe the other beers were dry, bitter and hoppy (good name for a beer that: Dry, Bitter and Hoppy), but this just seemed too sweet, even for my sweet tooth. On style alone it would score very poorly, as a strong beer, equally poorly: but as a ’one off’ beer from a brewery I know nothing about I’ve scored it as objectively as I can.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a more amber color than expected, bordering on copper. There’s little head and but rabid activity below. The aroma is sweet, sugary and almost caramel. Similarly, this drinks with an unexpectedly thick and syrupy character ... rich with a definite malt backdrop. The alcohol is clearly evident. And while this is an enjoyable drink, I wouldn’t put it in the "Tripel" vein. To thick and syrupy for the style IMHO. (#5453, 3/5/2014)

Clear copper gold with a dense one-finger head and very nice lace. Rich Belgian yeast aroma with graham cracker, banana, pepper, lemon and bandaids. Taste is mostly sweetness and alcohol, with citrus, nuts, and a touch of oatmeal. Medium body, lively carbonation, sticky mouthfeel and a lingering sense of alcohol in the finish.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
From a 22 oz bottle. Poured into a Great Lakes tulip glass
Pours gold with modest head and lace. Aroma of alcohol, sweet malts and some kitchen cleanser esters. Medium carbonation and big mouthfeel. Flavors of banana, alcohol, candy cane, bubble gum, slight pepper, clove and liquorice. Overall a bit strong in alcohol in the nose and taste but tasty in the malts.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a golden copper color that is clean. Aroma is fruity and sweet at the same time. The sweet smells like light caramel mixed with a fruit cocktail. Taste is clean and crisp. Complex flavors of apricots, brown sugar and peaches. The alcohol content comes through in the aftertaste but it dissipates quickly. A well thought out balanced beer.
