Asylum is in the style of a Belgian Tripel. It has a beautiful golden color. Its relatively light body is deceiving for a beer of its character. It has a sweet and spicy, complex fruity aroma and flavor derived from our distinct Belgian yeast strain. Asylum finishes with a subtle, warming character to help you relax on any night. Asylum is an exceptionally smooth Belgian-style brew. Drinking great beer brings the world together. “Vrede op aarde” (Peace on earth).

Look, if you people don’t like strong beers, then don’t drink this. If a double dubble is a quadruple, then this is the world’s first sextuple - a double triple. This beer is incredibly smooth and well integrated for its size. Lemon and yeast on the nose, huge apricots, honey and a hint of belgian funkiness pulling up the rear. At a good price, too. Nice silk-screened label.

Botella de 65 cl en el lúpulo en marzo de 2012. Estilo belga con sabores dulces y una buena sensación alcohólica proporcionada por sus 11 vol. Ligero amargor. Buena.

Bottle from Archive Beer Boutique January 2014. Great beer and great label. Fruity notes fill the nose and the beer fills the mouth with wonderful flavours - melon, peach, nectarine.

OK, we have quite a sweet alcohol bomb here. Seems like these guys aren’t familiar with brewing Belgian ales. Pours clear dark gold with a very slight white head that is gone instantly, but does leave slight lacing. Aroma is hard candy, caramel, grain, and booze. This is overwhelmingly sweet, almost like a cordial. There is some spiciness, maybe coriander, but the sweetness mostly covers it. Medium to full body, syrup-like texture, soft carbonation, and long, sweet finish. It was a good price at $6.99 for a 22 oz. bottle, but I don’t think I will be repeating this experiment. The 11.8% abv packs a punch if that’s what you’re after.

Quite a stretch at calling this a tripel. Karmeliet will always be the benchmark. Lots of candy, caramel sweetness, darkish amber, minimal head. Aroma is also sugary sweet, tending towards Southern Comfort. Lots left lacking here....

Bottle from CBX. Clear orange pour pour with a bubbly white head. Aroma is toasted malts, baked bread, peppery yeast, and lingering banana esters. Flavor is sweet clove and banana throughout with baked bread and caramel malts. Goddamnit, I wish someone could brew this style without making it insanely sweet because I really like the style when it’s not done like shit. FART.

Light notes of coriander, light orange peel and good floral yeast integration. Hazy copper pour with ok head and lacing. Light sweet and sour finish. Very understated for style and alcohol content. Tap at Brew’d.

Pours dark gold in the glass. Descent fruity spiced aroma. Some apple pear and clove. Some more spicy clove and a hint of pepper lavor also withnthe warming hint of alcohol. Overall, a very assertive brew. Strong flavors but still somewhat drinkable. It might need to be aged for year or two to mellow out.

Bomber from The Cove, a mini market close by our hotel with a few locals. Nose is candisugar, vanilla, caramel toffee. Clear gold with a medium, lightly lacing, off white head. Flavor is moderately sweet vanilla caramel chews with a tiny hint of background bitterness and no hint of the totally covered 11.8%. Exceptionally pleasant drinking after a full day at Disneyland.
