2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. Great appearance, no balance, bland taste, so-so aroma of hops. Tastes of caramel, overwhelming. Would not recommend.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a medium amber / mahogany with tall off white head and decent lacing. Aromas of toffee, a little caramel, biscuit, pine, grass cutting, and a slightly vegetal hop character. Taste starts as rich toffee and subtle biscuit and moves into a bright piney hop character with subtle hints of lawnmower trimmings and a bit of woodiness. Finish has a slight alcohol warming with a medium bitter acidity. Hops seem to combat with the malts and alcohol a bit. I would have probably gone with different hop line up.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Flavorful and rich. Nice malt notes that overpowered a bit the hoppiness that I expect in an IPA, but balanced overall. I would definitely give it another try... time and again

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
I’m a big fan of IPAs and Left Coast, but just don’t care for this beer.
It’s very one-note - just hops and nothing else.
Slightly cloudy pour. Aroma is lots of pine, a little citrus. Flavor is an over-poweringly resin. Very dry finish.

Bottle. Seems very hot for some odd reason. Does start sweet and finishes pungent. Not crisp. Something off. Maybe old

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at Max’s. Pours clear amber with creamy white head. Aroma is floral and citrus hops, biscuit and cookie malts, light toast, and oranges. Flavor is dry malt base quickly followed by floral hop bitterness, some caramel sweetness, and light fruit esters; dry finish. Medium body and low carbonation.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Yeesh, nothing subtle about this one. Lighter pour than expected, pine aroma from beginning to end. Hop forward, more pine, resinous, oily mouthfeel with that pine tree smell all over the place. If I was in the mood for hop overload this would deliver. Very bitter but not over the top, crisp with modest malt balance. Better than expected for a double IPA that is trying to stand out. More enjoyable than a lot of HOP BOMB type beers for a hint of restraint. Just a hint.
Would I drink again? yes.
Would I order again? maybe.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance was gold with creamy off white diminishing 1 finger head, spotty lacing. Aromas are sweet crystal, pale malts with burst of citrus and tropical, hints of alcohol. Taste are sweet malts backbone upfront and med swallow with ending grapefruit, lemon, orange, pine resin and warmin alcohol. Palate was soft smooth creamy CO2 with medium- full body, then lasting sticky smooth fruity, piney finish. A good solid piney DIPA.
