Up there with the best of the double IPAs, in my book, although it does tend sometimes to seem a little too harsh for my tastes.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: SEP 15, 2013 Bottle from Beer Junction, West Seattle, WA, USA. A hazy orange/amber coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, sweet, caramel aroma. Tastes similar, hoppy, sweet, caramel, pineapple, slightly bitter. A lovely DIPA from California, my kind of beer.

Really nice. Pours a hazy orange with white head. Aromas of malty corn syrup and caramel. Also resin. Flavours are sweet and malty. Caramel. Then transitions to a nice pine bitterness. Really good.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured from 12oz bottle, pours a dark hazy amber orange with a thick off white head and a lot of lacing in the glass, the aroma is a little more sweet than I was expecting with just a kick of citrus and hops coming through, the flavor is of bittering hops and a ton of sweet malt, whoa, something is telling me this didn’t get to Wisconsin in just a few weeks of bottling, thick mouthfeel that coats your entire mouth, I personally like my DIPA’s fresh and light with a good amount of citrus and a smooth finish, this is basically the exact opposite, I might have to ask our local distributer about how old some of this stuff is, too bad, I was looking forward to this one. My wife swore it tasted like my first batch of homebrew, and that’s not a good thing.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours orange with a white head. Medium floral bitterness, sweet malts, and light earthy notes. Tastes like an average amber ale. Either you all have shitty palates or I got burned with an old bottle. Sorry Left Coast, if you dated your bottles, I wouldn’t rate this likely out of date bottle. But you don’t. So tough shit.

Lovely imperial IPA, and very representative of the style. Loved the barnyard, cheese, basement aromas and resin grass hops.

This beverage reminded me of the 2012-2013 Yale men’s hockey team: it came out of nowhere, blew away the competition and took home the hardware. Nice golden hues and citrusy aroma up front...it appeared to be nothing special, but the back end of this brew smacked me with hops and a slight cotton-candy taste. Extremely hopped-up delight that is my title-winner for favorite new brew in the summer of 2013.
