At Left Coast Brewing Co. we pride ourselves on being one of the pioneers of Double IPA style craft beer. This hop monster uses Premium American 2– Row and a touch of light crystal malt to create a solid malt foundation. Five different Hop Varieties are used in the Hop Juice. It spends two weeks dry hopping in fermenter contributing to its great hop aroma. Starts out sweet and finishes with the crisp bitterness of a Double IPA. This drinkable blend will have you HOPPING till nights end.

Idiosynkrasie (6185) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - SEP 23, 2015
355ml bottle. Clear, orangey golden colour with average, thick, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Piney, hoppy aroma with a touch of glue, condensed notes of orange and candied orange zest, some lemongrass, cautious hints of green Thai curry, liquorice. Taste is biting bitter hoppy, resinous and piney, caramel malty basis with almond touch, chalky overtones. Dense and concentrated - may work as nutrition for astronauts, but not for me.

17/IX/15 - 12Fl. Oz. bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: n/a (2015-1200)

Clear deep orange beer, big irregular frothy off-white to beige head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: resinous, grassy, some citrus, sweet malts, caramel, ripe peaches, bit sugary. MF: soft carbon, full body. Taste: sweet malty start, caramel, sugary, bitter, resinous hops, lots of alcohol, pretty heavy, slightly sourish. Aftertaste: very dry, bitter, resinous, alcohol is clearly noticeable, bit fruity, some canned peaches on syrup, very bitter finish. Decent, but a bit heavy.

Bottle. Orange color. Ripe tropical fruit in the grassy herbal maltaroma. Malty sweet herbal grassy flavor with ripe tropical fruit. Hop bells. Tea leaves. Quite likeable.

TET (2549) - Kaarina, FINLAND - SEP 13, 2015
A dark yellow beer, a head is small and blond. Aroma has caramel malts, peaches, some tropical notes and pine. Taste has caramel malts, the bitterness is nicely balancing the sweetness, pine, some herbs. Long lasting bitterness. Medium+ bodied, not sticky. Not so fresh anymore, probably quite old bottle. The strong bitterness is balancing this caramelly DIPA.

Bottle. Golden, small to average and mostly diminishing head. Moderate to heavy malty and lightly sweetish - sweetish aroma with some caramel, tropical fruitiness with lots of grapefruit/piney hoppyness. Moderate to heavy malty and sweetish flavor, some caramel and tropical fruitiness, grapefruit/piney hoppyness. Finish is average to long, malty and lightly sweetish, faint caramel and some tropical fruitiness with lots of piney - some grapefruit hoppyness, faint alcohol. Really well hopped DIPA. Not too sweet - not too much caramel. Nice one.

Piwo złoto-pomarańczowe. Mętne. Piana obfita, szybko opada, umiarkowanie lepi szkło. W aromacie ziarniste, toasty, karmelki pomarańcze. Alkohol dobrze schowany. Goryczka wysoka choć niższa niż można by się było spodziwać. Przyjemne.

PorterPounder (7121) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - SEP 7, 2015
Tallahassee, Fl - Whole Foods Market - 12 oz bottle. Slightly sparkling, medium copper pour, quickly fading off-white head. Resiny, hoppy, aroma with some pungent spruce notes, a touch of booziness. Full-bodied flavor, more malt oriented than hop centric with some maple syrup stickiness, a touch of caramel, some brief citrus bitterness in the back end. thick, sticky mouthfeel. Decent but glad this was a 12’er rather than a bomber.
