COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
At Left Coast Brewing Co. we pride ourselves on being one of the pioneers of Double IPA style craft beer. This hop monster uses Premium American 2– Row and a touch of light crystal malt to create a solid malt foundation. Five different Hop Varieties are used in the Hop Juice. It spends two weeks dry hopping in fermenter contributing to its great hop aroma. Starts out sweet and finishes with the crisp bitterness of a Double IPA. This drinkable blend will have you HOPPING till nights end.

Not as much hop on the nose as expected. Initial sweetness followed by pure bitterness. Some funk, not really aromatic hop. Long lasting, but not pleasurable.

Good hops notes and taste, the main thing that comes through is the alcohol. Tough to make a beer that strong, good job

From a 355ml bottle on 18/4/2015. Pours a cloudy apricot with a small head. The nose features caramel malt, some fruity hops and honey. In the mouth, you get a big caramel malt backbone, mandarin, peach, apricot, honey, grapefruit and a hint of pepper. The hops are big, sticky and resiny. The palate is creamy and the carbonation soft. On first sip, I wasn’t entirely sold, but as it warmed, the complexity and balance became increasingly evident. Very nice indeed.

Amber in the glass with an offwhite head. Aroma is mild, some light floral hoppiness. Flavor is dominated by caramel maltiness and a pronounced pithy bitterness. Not great.

Aroma of floral notes and citrus. Darker red color. The liquid was clear. There was minimal foam. Heavy bitter taste. Full bodied beer. Thick texture. Soft carbonation. Has a bitter finish. Overall a decent dipa

Like sticking your nose deep into flower. That floral sweetness grabs you early. It has same effect on tongue before the drier finish. A sipper. 9.7%. 2.72std drks. 355ml. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I was hoping to have my head blown off by this: 5 different hops used, and transfer from sweetness to bitter on the finish, a whopping alcohol content, but all in all... I'm not fussed. It's a good beer, definitely well made, but its just lacking a certain something. I'm going to have to try the straight IPA and see if they hit there mark.

Bottle. Pours a somewhat hazy amber color with a moderate off-white head on there. Nose is sticky and quite resiny, making this a DIPA that you really have to like the hops on. Taste is quite bitter and just a little bit harsh on the palate, so it’s not all that accessible. OK.

On tap at The Local Taphouse. Pours clear amber. The aroma clearly states "yup, I’m an IIPA" with its flowery sweetness. The taste feels challenged by that and punches you with a nice combo of sweet bitterness. Punchy and strong, nothing to hide. Almost too much.

Aromas are hops, honey and malt. A nice balance with some complexity. Color is a fairly deep Amber with a modest off-white head. Taste is a combination of a fairly pronounced sweetness and a good hop bitterness. Full bodied with a long pleasant bitter finish. Overall a very good beer. Some complexity with sweet and bitter components and a real ale-like character.

Something of a caramel malt bomb with some extra bitter piney hops as an afterthought. I suspect that this bottle is less than fresh, but hey you want me to favorably rate fresh stuff? Then date yer damn bottles.
