3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 bblack99 (518) - Kansas City, USA - FEB 18, 2011
Not too shabby, considering its age! 22oz bomber from a summertime trip to Colorado, wasted away for half a year in the back of my fridge, always passed over for the fresher seasonals, huge stouts, etc. Record high February temps made me crack out this old girl, and she’s served me well as rating #401.
Pours a clear honey orange with a big (2-finger) white head that laces like a champ. Aroma is powerful citrus, ranging from pineapple and orange to lemon and grapefruit. Flavor is a bit flat, overly sweet to start, and overly dry at the finish, but it could just be a result of my mishandling.

Poured from tap into a large snifter. Light but deep reddish/amber with a thick white head that gives way to thick lacing. Aroma is citrus and pine. Taste matches, but definitely heavy on the pine. Very dry finish that lasts for awhile, giving way to slight sweetness.

ABV is hidden rather well in this well balanced brew. Not outstanding, but quite nice.

Came all the way to Stavanger Norway to tey this one. Bottled, shared. Taste was smooth and not overly bitter. Tasted well below its strength.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 daknole (5865) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - APR 30, 2012
Deep gold with hints of apricot orange colors. Sticky whiteh head. Grapefruit hops and sticky caramel malt nose. Flavor is big and bold with citrus hops, grassy hops, and a very big sweet caramel malt backbone.
3.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 colinize (46) - Dallas, Texas, USA - APR 27, 2012
Beer pours a light straw. Aroma is virtually non-existant, and a tad malty, which is a bit odd for a double IPA. A thin head retains well and laces down the glass. Flavor profile is strong, bitter hops. Lots of pine - strong malt backbone, but not overly sweet. Hop flavor lasts through initial sip to the mid part of your tongue and even through the finish. This is not a smooth drinker. It’s a good double IPA, but not one I’d necessarily seek out.
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 gringo332 (406) - Richardson, Texas, USA - APR 27, 2012
Pours hazy deep orange with a small white head. Aroma is strong citrus and sweet caramel.Taste is overall sweet, almost cloying, medium bodied, bordering to watery. Could wish for some more hop bitterness here. Light bitter/sweet finish, harsh.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 omega (222) - NEW ZEALAND - APR 18, 2012
She’s a simple brew. Take hops, add hops and then finish with more hops. Bitter and dry, did mention hops? Hops is predominant. It’s about hops. Hops. HOPS! But in juice form.
