3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured a clear orangey amber colour with a one-finger off-white foamy head that diminished slowly to a collar and laced OK as fine curtains and spots. Carbonation low and fine. Aroma strongly of nice moderately strong pine and citrus (grapefruit, lime) hops plus with some underlying sweetness. Taste dominated initially by tangy grapefruit and lemon followed by hints of caramel sweetness. Light to medium body. Crisp, smooth, refreshing, with a long lingering citric bitterness and with a slightly dry finish. Quite a good IPA.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
From a 355ml bottle on 5/5/2015. Pours a slightly opaque deep golden with a small head. Has a lovely hoppy aroma, featuring stone fruit, tropical fruit and grapefruit, with some floral notes in there as well. Take a sip and there’s some light biscuity malt, followed by lots of sweet peach and apricot, with a big, satisfying, grapefruity hops providing the balance. Full bodied with average carbonation. A very harmonious, enjoyable IPA.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a hazy orange copper with minimal head. Aroma is sweet caramel, pine, lime and a hint of spice. Flavour is bitter upfront, but once the bitterness subsides it gives way to steely hop goodness and sweet malt. Delicious beer, but perhaps needs to dial back the bitterness while keeping the flavour and aroma, like feral brewing manages to do with their hop hog.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle from DMs. Clear amber body beneath a smallish white head that leaves a soapy lace. Aroma is pine resin, orangey citrus and biscuity malts which is transferred to the palate in an orderly fashion. Finish is resinous and dry. Body is light-medium. Not the freshest hops I have ever tasted but still another fine West Coast IPA.

Unsure of how this ended up on the shelves of Dan Murphy’s, but equally perplexed by why I myself was shopping there to begin with!??
Into a snifter it goes. Settles with a solid, two inch, rocky white crown fuelled by very fine carbonation. Body is a radiant, sunny orange. Super piney, camphorous and raw is the nose, smelling down and out like I was standing in the middle of a pine plantation. A subtle edge of stewed rhubarb and strawberry khoulis lifts it. Creamy in the mouth; frothy and soft with a thick finish. Plenty of herbaceous, peppery and, of course, piney hops fill out the palate, spreading into every nook and crannie. Dusty, earthy and raw like the nose. Lengthy bitterness is a highlight. Malt plays second fiddle but offers a grainy, toasty balance. Definitely get the Chinook as there is a tart, bitter, underripe grapefruit quality to it also. This one is all hops done well. Beautifully bitter, tight, tart, spicy and woody all rolled into one. A pleasant IPA! (12fl.Oz, no date stamp, Dan Murphy’s, Canning)

Bottle from Wine Emporium 190315. Stylish little number with floral and citrus aromas. Not overly hoppy but that’s okay. Golden honey colour with soft head.
