pours orange/ copper with a small thin off white head. aroma is strong grapefruit and floral hops with some malt balancing and a nice citrus finish. taste is bitter all the way through the sip, from start to finish, and the finish is dry and all grapefruit bitterness. very good beer.

Pours light amber-gold with a white head. Aroma is orange, floral, pine, and caramel. Hint of lemon. Taste of grapefruit peel, resin, and toast with orange marmalade. Bitter and resinous with a nice dry finish.

Aroma: Beautiful, strong citrus, passionfruit, tropical, some peach or apricot once it starts warming up a bit. Taste and mouthfeel were a little disappointing at first, they didnt live up to the promise of the aroma. Taste was very restrained and mouthfeel a little thin and unsatisfying. After a while though it all starts coming together. Mmmmmm. It’s got a bit more balls now, very nice, the earthy bitterness is playing off the light and airy citric, tropical, floral flavours nicely.

Light golden, thin white head. Orange and grapefruit aroma, slight vanilla and toasty malt. Taste is pine, sweet and sour lemon, slight resin, cereal malt but only lightly sweet.

A bottle I picked up on sale at Antenna America in Yokohama. It poured a nice copper with a white head. The citrusy hop aroma was great, the flavor starts off with sweet citrus, some caramel type malt notes, a bit of pine and a clean bitter finish. A solid IPA.

It had a stink to it the second I opened it. The taste was one dimensional and a little bit chemical? It was really nothing to write home about.

Pours a nice golden with a big head and lots o’ lace.
The aroma has some citrus and melon-esque hops... .but a lot of it is caramelly... I can’t be doing the caramel aroma in the IPA at this level. Damn...
The flavor is ok... it’s one of those IPAs where the hops are used more for a bittering charge than as a featured flavor. The hop flavor is citrus rind and grassiness. The beer is not as sweet as the aroma lets on, but it’s still got more caramel flavor than I would normally want. Bitter forward & Caramel-y without much defined hop flavor... that’s pretty much the opposite of what I hoped to get here.
It’s not an actively offensive beer... it’s drinkable, but I really thought I’d be getting a west coast style hop bomb, dry, fruity, & pungent. But I seem to find this to be akin to many IPAs from breweries that have been doing this sort of thing for less time & in regions where there isn’t a defined sort of IPA character.
wow, I’m babbling now.... I guess I’ll just stop.

Smells piney and citrusy. Bitter but balanced. Light copper color. Would drink again.

22 oz. bottle. Pours clear dark amber with a nice large foamy sudsy white head that settles to a film and shows plenty of sticky lacing. Aroma has bitter hops that are tropical citrus with apricot melon and mango with a light malt presence. Taste is bitter and malty with the hops being tropical and fruity with a good malty balance. Palate is medium and dry. Solid IPA.

Had on tap at Small Bar in San Diego. It was the cask ale. Pours a hazed golden orange color with a stubborn, but short white head. Pungent grapefruit bouquet. The moutfheel is a little flat and unrewarding. There are grapefruit esters in the flavor, but not to the extent one would expect from the bouquet. Finishes a little juicy and with more grapefruit esters. Not too bad.
