[Bottle (660ml) shared with JoeMcPhee, jercraigs & mabel -- c/o j&m] Pours a dark amber-brown with an average size frothy tan head. A bit oily looking. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, lots of leafy hops and some chocolate. Flavour of roasted malt, chocolate, some coffee, light lactic notes and leafy hops. Alcohol is well hidden. Slightly oily mouthfeel. Average to medium bodied. Pretty good, I enjoyed it.

Noire, fine mousse beige.

100 ml sample. Black with amber highlights. Lots of coffee in the nose, malts, vanilla, desert-like notes. Some hops early on. The taste has coffee too, roasty but not too much, just enough alcohol, solid bitterness. Pretty good, but not mindblowing. (backlog 17-JAN-2016).

Bottle. Pours black with thin tan head. Very rich aroma of coffee, dark chocolate and malt. Medium-to-thick body. Taste starts smooth and nice, rich with dark malt overtones then becomes roast-bitter and ends with hop dryness. Really good and complex stout with a pronounced American character.

Tap at TAPS in KL after a week at Cherengin. Pitch black pour with tan head. Aroma is all roasted malt - some chocolate too. Not that exciting. Taste follows. One note of pretty deeply roasted malt, bitterness is more dark chocolate than hops. Palate is ever so slightly sticky. Pretty boring actually. Not bad but all in one direction and not one that I like that much.

Black color with mocha head. Aroma is really roasty with dark malts, a bit of chocolate and coffee. Taste is malty, with dark chocolate and intense roastiness on the finish. Quite bitter on the aftertaste, lingers for a long time, making you want to have another sip. Heavy, smooth body with soft carbonation. Alcohol is well hidden, making the beer very drinkable. I really like this one, heavy, roasty, bitter and smooth, feels like a proper stout.
