COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
At Left Coast Brewing Co. we pride ourselves on a unique batch of beer in the style of an American Stout. Voo Doo is a full bodied, dark brew that is rich and malty with plenty of roasted barley character. This hearty stout is layered with flavors of roasted barley, chocolate, and coffee coming from the highest quality imported malts. Its creamy long lasting head completes the brew, tempting your taste buds to be spellbound.

Bottle sample at a tasting at troubles’s place. Thanks Stas. Black with a small tan head. Aroma of roast, coffee, a bit of dark fruits. Bittersweet flavor with roast, coffee, salty note, a bit of dark fruits notes, and a bitter finish. Medium to full-bodied, rounded. Good.

Black colored, small tan head, creamy. Aroma is of caramel, chocolate and roasted malt, some coffee. Taste is medium sweet chocolate, some caramel, roasted malt and coffee, medium- bitter roasted dry finish. Medium bodied, creamy, soft carbonation. (bottle, Bierhalle Deconinck, Vichte)

Bottle from BevMo! in Redwood City. Aroma is cocoa, cocoa cereal (something slightly unpleasant, artificial in the nose), some vanilla, some smoke. Taste is a chocolate, vanilla, black coffee, ashy. A little bitter and herbaceous to me.

Bottle split at CCii, from an IP trade, 05/03/16. Black with a decent tan head. Nose is light roast, chocolate, trace of spice, dark malt interplay. Taste comprises mellow dark fruit vibes, chocolate, biscuit, spice, toffee fudge. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Easy drinking impy but somewhat pedestrian and lacking authority.

Bottle share at Cotteridge Wines, as ’Left Coast Voo Doo American Stout’, 8%, thanks to The Don. Black with a small foamy brown head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate syrup. Body is smooth, tingly carbonation. Taste is coffee, metallic with a salty dry finish. Pretty nice.
