Once you get past the cheesy label, a great beer awaits. Dark murky brown to black in color, with thin beige head, creamy but not substantial like an Guinness. Nose is coffee, roast grains, dark chocolate, burnt toast. Taste is roast grains with a tinge of bitterness, deep burnt flavor lingers. Slick and velvety, goes down smooth.

Bottle. Thick and black as night. Drinks with an exceptionally thick, rich roasted character. Solid all the way ... the emphasis is definitely just on simple, darkly roasted malt. No over-the-top chocolate or java here ... just some good roast. Good stuff. (#5499, 4/27/2014)

Poured from a bottle at room temperature. Dark brown color, small tan head. Roasted malt and slight peppery smell. Watery coffee malt flavor with a light creamy texture and a light burnt finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma of coffee and phenols, great ebony colour with a creamy well laced short lasting head. A phenolic taste and palate, with just a hint of coffee.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours very dark brown wit a sticky tan head. Nose is robust and roasty with mild dark chocolate, molasses and the extremely unliked vegemite note. Taste is milky chocolate with earthiness and dry wood. Quite liquorice forward and less boozy than the nose alludes to. An ok quaffer type

Beautiful opaque pour w/ a mocha head that leaves very good lacing. The aroma has a roasty undertone w/ touch of chocolate. The taste is chocolate upfront & then hits you w/ some roasted bitterness in the finish all while having a milky smooth mouthfeel! Tasty, fairly complex, & goes down easy! Nicely done!
