3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Molasses and coffee nose. Rich. Fully opaque black body with some dark brown hues and a tan head. No lace. Lighter bodied than I would expect from an 8.5% abv imperial stout with engine oil consistency. Very smooth without the soy sauce aspect prevalent in many beers of this style. No predominant hop profile to speak of. Although flawless, the brew is quite frankly underwhelming.

12/16/2013. On tap. Pours black with a tan head. Dark roasted malt aromas with chocolate, licorice and coffee. Not as bitter as many of the counterparts, but definitely stands up on its own. Nice balance and flavors.

Bottle pour. Left Coast Voodoo American Stout. A real good chocolate taste with some gnarly barley notes and coffee accents. Well done. Cheers!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Though black as night, the head was fairly small and didn’t last that long or leave a whole bunch of lacing.
Aroma and flavor were nice and roasty, with a good pinch of burnt flavors for accent, and plenty of creamy milk chocolate, ample coffee, and a touch of bright citrus.
Body is pretty thick and creamy, carbonation is smooth and fairly low, finish is sweet chocolate and citrus.
Overall it’s pretty tasty.

Very nice smooth stout. Smooth is the operative word here. No bitterness. No roastiness. Beautiful malt base. Just a perfect tinge of sweetness. Just ... Smooth.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours black...with a thin, quick, dark tan head.
Roasty chocolate, coffee aroma.
Flavour is dark, bitter chocolate and coffee.
Good, even, hop bitter....
Slightly creamy, but not sweet.
A good, solid stout.
Very nice example.

Serving: 22 oz bottle from State Line Liquors. Pours an inky black with a dense tan head. Slightly flinty, roasty nose. Roasted malt with a bit of vanilla up front. Light milky sweetness midway. Roasted, flinty bitterness on the back end. Full bodied with an oily mouthfeel. Good.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Single big bottle from Albertsons in Vegas. Pours a dark brown colour with a creamy beige head, creating creamy sticky lacing, after disappearing slowly. Cacao aromas with vanilla notes, Mild roasted malts and lots of hops for the style. Smooth, slightly creamy mouthfeel. Again, quite hoppy for the taste over the chocolate malt, finishing with good bitterness. This American Stout is quite a treat with all the strong spots for this style, plus hops. Just a little too expensive as similar products had this week, were half the price.
