At Left Coast Brewing Co. we pride ourselves on a unique batch of beer in the style of an American Stout. Voo Doo is a full bodied, dark brew that is rich and malty with plenty of roasted barley character. This hearty stout is layered with flavors of roasted barley, chocolate, and coffee coming from the highest quality imported malts. Its creamy long lasting head completes the brew, tempting your taste buds to be spellbound.

Tap at TAPS in KL after a week at Cherengin. Pitch black pour with tan head. Aroma is all roasted malt - some chocolate too. Not that exciting. Taste follows. One note of pretty deeply roasted malt, bitterness is more dark chocolate than hops. Palate is ever so slightly sticky. Pretty boring actually. Not bad but all in one direction and not one that I like that much.

Black color with mocha head. Aroma is really roasty with dark malts, a bit of chocolate and coffee. Taste is malty, with dark chocolate and intense roastiness on the finish. Quite bitter on the aftertaste, lingers for a long time, making you want to have another sip. Heavy, smooth body with soft carbonation. Alcohol is well hidden, making the beer very drinkable. I really like this one, heavy, roasty, bitter and smooth, feels like a proper stout.

appearance: dark cola, creamy light tan head, decent lacing. aroma: roasty espresso, chocolate, caramel, black bread, toast, light pine. taste: coffee, dark chocolate, toasted black bread, light pine; there’s a surprising molasses and fruit undertone. finish: clean and dry, lingering roast. notes: A big stout that drinks like a porter. Some foreign stout characteristics as well. Bottle from Sarah for Beerdvent 2015.

[7989-20151218] 1pt6floz bottle. Roasty woody grains aroma. Black body with a medium-lasting foamy tan head. Roasted grains and burnt bread flavour. Full body has a long finish. Very tasty but a little on the burnt side. (8/4/8/4/16) 4.0

From the bottle, creamy smooth aroma with notes of milk chocolate, alcohol, and a touch of coffee. Taste is similar, with a milky creaminess (phrasing?), not too thick (uh, phrasing/), and just a hint of coffee bitterness to finish. Easy drinking, this is a good one.

On tap at JL Beers, Grand Forks. Black pour with a tan head. Aroma is roasty chocolate, dry and a little creamy. Taste is chocolate and a little roasty, a touch of coffee. A bit light and thin for the ABV, but really nice nonetheless.

Bouteille 355ml.
