Cotteridge 2 tasting. Black beer. Lasting tan head. Chocolate sponge flavour bit one dimensional but the dark chocolate is good. Decent dark choc stout.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Undated 12 oz bottle with an indicated ABV of 8.0%; served in a Belgian snifter after some warming.
Appearance: pours near black with a thin head that reduces to a ring almost immediately. Ruby highlights in strong light. Minimal spotty lacing.
Aroma: sweet with suggestions of dark dried fruits, light booze and dark bread.
Flavor: largely follows and is mild for style but no shortage of dark roasted grains. Light, and not objectionable burnt grains notes.
Feel: smooth, medium+ body; overly light carbonation.

Slightly oily mouthfeel. Average to medium bodied. Pretty good, I enjoyed it.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Noire, fine mousse beige.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
100 ml sample. Black with amber highlights. Lots of coffee in the nose, malts, vanilla, desert-like notes. Some hops early on. The taste has coffee too, roasty but not too much, just enough alcohol, solid bitterness. Pretty good, but not mindblowing. (backlog 17-JAN-2016).
