Pretty nice stout. Dark with a roasted barley and coffee taste...I couldn’t find the chocolate flavor others referred to. I really like it but it but it leaves kind of a bitter aftertaste. Probably I am rating this higher than I should. I have a couple more left and may give a second opinion later.

A little light, as stouts go, but pretty good. It pours very deep brown with average head. The aroma is coffee and plenty of hops. I’ve noticed that "American" on a beer label just means that it’s hopped all to hell. I’m fine with that. This thing still has some malt character in the flavor, though, and some chocolate. It’s a decent little beer.

Not much of an aroma. Pours with nice head and lacing into a shifter. Flavor is nice but watery. A little smoky with some espresso.

From 22oz bottle to snifter. Pour is a dark brown, pretty much black with a creamy tan head. Nose is big coffee, roasted malt, chocolate, hint of vanilla. Taste is heavy bodied, bitter with touches of sweetness. Thick feel, lingers in your mouth with an alcohol finish. Awesome stout

12 oz bottle from Hy-Vee Wine & Spirits - Muscatine, into a pint glass. Black appearance with a small tan head. Aroma of dark malts, chocolate, vanilla, light molasses, roast, light coffee and a touch of dark fruits. Similar flavor, dark and malty with moderate malt sweetness and light earthy hop bitterness. Medium body with a soft, creamy feel and a lasting finish.

Bottle. Poured a black color with an average frothy brown head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted malt. chocolate, coffee and small alcohol aroma. Medium to heavy dark sweet toasted malt flavor with a medium to heavy dark sweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate to long duration. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a solid beer.
