I can see why the World Cup of 2012 gave a bronze medal to this beer. It is smooth, not syrupy at all. Extremely well balanced in flavor, texture, and after taste. Strong coffee notes followed by the espresso. Great beer indeed. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottled. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and licorice. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry and with a hint of bitterness. Medium, oily texture and soft carbonation. An excellent Impy. 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Deep black pour. The nose is a little bit roasty and chocolatey scented. The nose is lovely. Roast and cocoa. There’s a nice hoppiness and a bit of soft sweet toastiness. Nice beer - drinks like much less than an 8% beer.

Fat carbonation. Very roasted, black coffee and creamy at the same time, the body is not that gooey as expected. Alcohol is well hidden- medium to full body I would say. Leaves quite long lasting aftertaste of roasted malt. Bit decreasing overall cuz was something between imp and regular.

Bottle at home. Pitch black with a tan head. Smells of roasted malts, dark chocolate and coffee. The taste follows the same notes. Smooth-ish mouthfeel, with a chocolate bitter aftertaste.

On tap at the Monte Carlo Pub (Las Vegas, NV). Pours a black body with maroon glints and a thin beige creamy head. Complex malty/hoppy aroma with chocolate, roasted coffee, and plummy hints. Alcohol is well hidden. Its smooth malty taste carries woody, plummy, and chocolate notes. Ends with a long, robust bittersweet finish. Very nice.
